I was helping a lady carry some junk out of her house. This old Spartan belonged to her father. Structurally it's in fine shape, it's just pretty well coated in gunk. Any tips for cleaning a SAK? I've never seen one quite so gunked up.

Well, I just use the toothpick that comes with the knife to push out any crud that gets caught in mine. Yours sounds like a lot more than just normal grime though.
Watch this video from Cutlerylover on youtube. In it he talks about cleaning them with a toothbrush and removing the scales to clean under there.

Peace out.

Thanks, I'd use the toothpick but this one is pre toothpick! :D

Looking forward to getting it cleaned up. Free SAKs are always nice!
