The one I was making before leaving broke and I still wanted a new pipe, so I've decided to make another one.

I used to smoke an occasional pipe, but since my last one broke, I never replaced it. I still love the smell of pipe tobacco.

I'm not gonna lie...I partly hate you and partly want to be..the exactly the same reason. You have to freaking talented to just decide, "Hey, I think I'll make a pipe today. I mean...real one, you know, a nice one." and then actually pull it off.

Well done.

Did you use an old "stem" or whatever the black part is properly called.

Pipe was the only thing I actually enjoyed/enjoy smoking. (And never did find anything better, to smoke, than that cheap old gas-station-available Captain Black!)

Thanks! :D

It smokes really well, I tried it last night and I was very satisfied with it.
I'll see if my wife can take me a pic while smoking when she comes back from work.

I did use a steam from an old pipe. I have to learn where to get those alone if I want to make more.

Here's a stag one I started to make, but it chipped, so I didn't finish it.

I will however make another one in stag as it'g going to look really nice and it's a good material, it absorbs the tobacco humidity and dissipated heat very well.

An object of function and beauty. My hat's off to you, I can barely tie my shoes.

pack a fat bowl of weed
(( unfortunate attempt at humor ))

i thought it was funny, but if some one was offended by this...sorry?
i dont see how this is an infraction i am a medical user, its decriminalized in California to so...i dont know why i would get penalized or any one else whether its illegal or legal.

oh yea and i forgot, well done, im loving the design.

Ruben, those are awesome!

Hi Ruben, great looking pipe!! I make some in Ironwood that are my favorites. If you would like I will send you a nice block or two. You might find stems on ebay or with company's that sell pipe kits. I get some of mine from old quality pipes I find at yard sales, some of those pipes are big and ugly and get re-carved, Hehe.

Horn is fairly easy to make stems from as it can be molded to shape, makes curved stem Irish styles easy.

Great job Calo! I think you did a fantastic job...A knife and pipe combo is something I may be interested in now! I am a fan of your work!

Thank you very much!

I did use a natural dye as not to smoke something that might be toxic, but I don't know the English translation for it yet (got asked on another forum too)

Here I am smoking the olive wood pipe.

And this is the finished new stag one. I've made those rustic lines as decoration but I'm not set on them... I might decide to smooth and polish it later, or even make a small scrimshaw on it. We'll see!
