I have a Kershaw 2410 ( http://www.kershawknives.com/knives...ages/2410RO.jpg ) that I carry but needs service (it's beat to hell) but It does not have to be a carry knife.

I'm kinna leaning towards the Sealpup, the griptilion or the Kershaw rescue.

any input?

What role do you want this knife to fulfill? Will it be a beater, or at least a heavy user? Do you want a folder or a fixed blade? It's sort of an arbitrary decision if you don't provide criteria.

I pick the most expensive one and then sell it for one I really wanted.

The revolver has so many gimmicks that it looks clumsy for basic hunting knife tasks. The blade is a bit long and wide for use on deer-sized animals. It would be OK on elk. The gut hook will get in the way for general camp use. The saw looks pretty useful. So unless you hunt elk-sized big game this would not be my choice as a hunting knife. It would be a secondary choice as a camp knife.

The Trail Master is a heck of an impressive knife, but you may not find a lot of places you want to be seen carrying it. It makes a good fighting knife or a long camp knife, but I seldom really use one this big.

I would have no use for the Seal Pup whatsoever. It is too small for a fighting knife and badly designed for a hunting/camp knife.

Yellow wouldn't be my choice for color, but the Griptilian is very well designed, has a great lock, and has a premium (440C) blade alloy. It is probably the most utilitarian choice. The Night Force would come in a distant second for design and materials (440A). Having a sharp tip (or at least a sharp leading corner like on a sheeps foot blade) is a very important feature on a knife. You frequently need to start a cut with a point. Since it lacks a point the Rescue Blur would be my least favorite folder. I don't collect old style pocket knives so I wouldn't even consider the Case options.

All told, I would pick the Trail Master for fun and because it is probably the most expensive. For practical use I would pick the Griptillian.

Yellow Griptilian for me, I like a really useful knife and don't go in for fighting stuff. I don't hunt either. ho hum I quite like the colour

CS Trailmaster or SOG Pup for fixed blade

Spyderco Delica or BM Grip. for folder.

but it might be wiser to check what you want/need YOURSELF

Though I would prefer the mini Grip - and something other than yellow - the Grip would be my frist choice for my needs followed by the Delica.

Unless I am mistaken the CS trailmaster is worth a lot more money then any other knife you list. It also is a very cool large bowie with a very good rep. If ya don't like it then you can trade or sell it for two or three of the other knives on your list.

Skywlkr, you have a wonderful selection of knives to choose from, like Knife Saber said, your criteria should help you decide which one to choose.

The SOG Hunter Revolver has been proven to be a great performer in hunting and camping. There have been many reviews and test on the Revolver knives since they have been on the market, and all have mentioned in one way or another just how useful this knife has been while skinning deer and like Jeff said, Elk. I have lots of friends that have used the Hunter to field dress many deer, they tell me it's perfect for this.
I am not sure about the gimmicks that Jeff mentioned  , the Revolver is a simple design, it has a blade and a saw, while using the blade for skinning or camp chores, the saw is locked securely and hidden within the handle. You never know it's there unless you want to use it, then it takes a couple seconds and a push of a button to change to the saw.
Everyone has a right to his or her opinions, my opinions are based on using this knife in the field and many outdoor, knife and gun magazine reviews that have been done on the Revolver series by many different writers. This knife is far from clumsy, it performs just like a standard straight knife, if I you were not told, you would probably never realize it would change blades. The switch hidden in the handle is proven (and tested/reviewed in magazines) to be fail safe.
The latest review is in Tactical knives magazine, (march 2005). I do agree with Jeff on two things, the blade length (5 inches) may be too long for some hunters and campers, but seems to be perfect for many. But this is a choice we make on any knife we choose.
The gut hook is another issue some campers may not choose to have, but this is why SOG made the SEAL Revolver, it has a clip blade. When I use the gut hook around camp it never gets in the way, I use it to lift hot pots, cut tarp straight and fast, cut vines or anything else I may need it for. (it saves the main blade edge).
I found the link below while doing a search on the Hunter a while back, thought it was interesting.
Robbie Roberson ;)
P.S. Jeff is right about the saw, it cuts bone or wood like crazy

I think I'm going to go with the griptilian it has the combo blade with out the hole.

Probably also get this one too. Spyderco Wayne Goddard Gray.
http://www.knifesite.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=85787 Is this a rare knife or something? Should I not use it?

i like spyderco quality but the blade design does not sit well with me, on the other hand that is a really georgeous knife.

Possibly the Revolver and/or Kershaw too...

OK so it turns out I didnt have to select just one , but it made you work harder.

Well I picked up three of the knives so far, one more later for sure and possibly another.

I got a Yellow Mini Grip combo.

a Kershaw Rescue Blur with red and black grip (any idea how to reprofile the blade to have a sharp tip?)

and the SOG revolver hunter.

He couldnt find the Spyderco Wayne Goddard Gray so I'll pick it up later.

I really like the Mini grip I even like the color as it will be easy to find if I drop it.

the kershaw is nice but a hair large for EDC and needs a point but feel good in hand and I like the glass break point

the Revolver is kind of neat, But I'm not sure If it will replace my current Sheath feild knife.

I sent my Kershaw 2410 off for repair so it was good timing to pick the mini grip up.

I like many on here believe the Trailmaster is the most expensive and by far strongest of the knives you mentioned. Were I in you shoes I'd definately pick it, especially since there's no Busses or Striders to choose from ;)
