I can no longer deny it...

RAT cutlery is my favorite knife company...that is a given. What is a relatively recent revelation for me is what my favorite RAT knife is. I own an rc-4, izula (three of these), rc-3 mil and rc-6 (acquired in that order). I always thought that the rc-4 was my favorite knife because I do love it, it was the first I got and seemingly everyone else was of the same opinion. Even a while after I got my rc-3 I was still convinced I liked the rc-4 better. Well I can no longer deny it...the rc-3 is absolutely not only my favorite RAT knife but, perhaps the favored knife in my collection. It just feels, and cuts great. I use it way more than my rc-4 and it is plenty tough for any task I might throw at it (aside from plunging into the concrete of my basement floor ;)...inside joke) I just love my rc-3. Is there anyone else out there who likes the rc-3 better? C'mon show some love for the rc-3:thumbup: :D

Ya. My 3 gets EDC'd while my 4 gets carried on the weekends. I love the thinner blade on the 3.
Sometimes less is better.

Right there with you - I don't carry any folders anymore - just RATs!

my rc3mil is carried in my edc bag everywhere I go - really really love it.

rc4 gets used on weekends and hiking.

3 is Great, but 4 is MORE. Can't help it. I'm a 4 Man. No matter how you slice it, RAT's where it's at. Period

--Was it just me or was that way to many rhymns in there..

I carry a slipjoint and a locking folder everyday...alongside my Izula. I just need to find a Queen/RAT on the 'bay and wait until they come out with the long-awaited folder. :D

I carry my rc-3 for work everyday, plus it gets used pretty hard on the weekends for fire prep. I should mention that I work at a boathouse so everyday it gets completely submerged at least once while cutting rope, 2 more months and it'll have outlasted any folder I've used for the same work, going to write a review by the end of the summer about how it holds up, so far so good

I love the knife, but its my first real fixed blade and it sure likes to remind me to move my hands faster next time by taking chunks out of my finger when i pull it from the sheath.

One day I'll get less clumsy :D

Because everything is better with pics even terrible cell phone ones:

My Dear Friends,

I also find myself leaning towards fixed blade carry rather than folders these days. Never thought I would hear myself say that. ;)

The RAT RC-4 is far and away my favorite RAT blade, and quite possibly my favorite fixed blade of those in my collection. I might yet pick up an RC-5, but for now the RC-4 wears the crown.

Camping season is finally beginning here, so I'll give it a good workout soon enough... :D

I don't have a Rat yet,but I will.Kind of leaning toward the 4,but like the boot clip feature on the 3.I have'nt quite made up my mind.

I've taken a shine to the RC-5 lately.

Didn't think I'd like it much when I got it but it feels so right in my hand and it takes a much keener edge than I would have thought it would.

I'm leaving in a few hours to go camping with Lupawolf an her hubby and Ron Hood and the gang, I'll be giving all my RAT's a proper workout.:D

Might just come home with a new one as my favorite.

Izula (3 of 'em), always one on me but if I had to choose only one then the RC3 would be it. My RC 3 fits my hand much better than my old RAT3 and i just would not be parted from my RC5, so i guess I do not need to choose! The Izula is just a very handy wee knife that it has replaced all folders I have used. Does any one want to swap a production Emerson CQC7 Wave for a OD Izula? Whatever tool someone chooses, if it feels right to you and you have confidence in it then it is the best one for you. For me now, it be RAT's!

Tough to say. I really like my RC-4 as a true do it all knife but it is big for EDC. I like the RC-3 for EDC, but by and large it has been supplanted in that category by the Izula which goes in the pocket every day. Personally, I like the combo of Izula/RC-4 a bit better for versatility of use and carry options. I have no regrets about having the RC-3 though.

My favorite was the RC 4, but since I got the RC 5, I have got to say, I love the indestructibility that comes with it.

See...for me it's never been about indestructability or tank knives. RAT makes very nice designs with a steel and heat treat that rival any company for toughness. What I love about the rc-3 is the way it handles and its cutting ability. For the thickness it is also a super tought blade. The rc-4 is starting to seem like an in-between knife to me. It wishes it had the ergos and cutting prowess of the rc-3 but doesn't, and tries to make a niche for itself with thicker stock (toughness). I still love my rc-4 but in all honesty it's not enough of an all arounder to justify its thickness, and the rc-3 is just so perfect and comfortable in its own skin. By the way the izula is also a perfect knife in my opinion and it never leaves my side. I also love the thickness on the rc-6.

I also love the rc-6. Probably right up their with my rc-3. The only thing I find with the rc-6 is I wish they were a little more handshaped. The handle feels a little boxy in my hand and makes the knife handle like it is bigger than it is. I still love the overall design and I think that the balance and blade thickness is perfect.

I guess I'm the odd man out, with the RC6 my fav.
