1-Brous Blades
Vr-71 Blackout- this is my favorite Looking one and love the snap sound from the flip

2-
Koenig Arius Standard Stonewash CTS-XHP Contoured Carbon Fiber Face Blue Titanium Backspacer Bead Blasted Titanium Clip 2.0

3-Todd Begg Knives TODD BEGG MINI GLIMPSE BLUE HANDLES or similair model

I get the Koenig supposed to blow away the other 2. Its closer to base model little boring looking.

I want this for EDC I will use. The flipping action is very important to me. I need a lighter knife so the Arius fits that. But the other 2 look nicer to me despite the quality. I need help picking share the why if you dont mind

If you want to show off your knife, get the one that gets the most ooh and aah's. Chances are you may think it's too pretty to use and wind up with a safe queen or selling it. Seen it happen all to often.

If you want a knife you'll actually use because it fits the bill, then get the ugly one. You won't mind getting a few dings and use it without caution. Personally, I prefer the ugly ones. With daily use, as the scars are collected, they have a story behind each one and the knife will have more personality than a pretty one.

Get the one that speaks to you the most.
1. The Brous, well it's a pretty expensive knife for what it is (in my opinion)
2. The Koenig to me is a knife that you probably need to spend quite a bit, it's one of those "go broke or go home deals" where it's not exactly a custom knife but it's so customizable that it's close, and it makes only real sense if you spec it to your personal preference which usually ends up getting spendy.
3. The Glimpse, it's made by Reate (if I am not mistaken) so it'll perform well and the quality is there, the style isn't quite my thing, it's a bit overdressed you could say. But out of the three I would go with that one.
Price/Quality match up there.

I'd get the Glimpse. No practical reason. Everything I've heard would make the Arius seem like the better choice, but it doesn't interest me. The Glimpse is funky. I like it.

Of the 3 I like the Begg style the best, the xhp steel the best, but the brous size the best...

In that price range, I'd probably go with a Reate K-1 cf/blue ti...
Size closer to the brous
Weight closer to the arius
But a style more similar to the Begg

And while rwl-34 is not cts-xhp/s35vn (or even d2), it's no slouch, a true stainless, that is still tough, and a bit easier to get a hair popping edge compared to the other 3... but that's just me.

I’m with you on how boring the Arius looks, I distrust/dislike Brous for various reasons, and I like fluted blades -and- sheepsfoot-like grinds, so... Mini Glimpse all the way.

I believe the Glimpse is made by WE actually as the first Begg knife they have done. Usually Reate does the Beggs.

I would choose the Arius or the Glimpse. The Arius seems to be abit bulkier though but is more exclusive and from what I hear exsquisitely made. Though WE is a great manufactuerer who imho are at their best when making a third party’s design.

Of these three I would choose the Arius hands down. Glimpse is a close second. The Brous just seems way overpriced for what you get.

You might be right, I know one was made by Reate and the other by WE, not sure which was which. Could be that the Glimpse was Reate and Mini Glimpse WE.

Didn’t read it because of all caps post. Maybe I’ll come back later and try again. This post’ll at least subscribe me to the thread.

This is an honest criticism, if you want more replies make your post as susinct and easy to read. Highlights/bolding used in the right way draws your attention to your subject/point rather than get lost among the rest of the post.

Wish you luck in your quest whatever it is and welcome to BFC.

Dude you friggin rule. Ever since my Emerson HD7s lock crapped out I have been carrying a DPX HEST 2.0 as my waved framelock. That Arius mod is amazing though and I love the white handles. (I am a sucker for white handles)

Personally I just reverse wave my DPX then kind of roll it into an edge in grip if I want to get to the most secure grip the fastest. But that double edged folder is awesome. There are some double edged dagger style folders with guards you can wave off of that I think would be pretty slick too.

It is obviously an internet misunderstanding that pikal only means edge in reverse grip as opposed to reverse grip either way. However it has become such a prevalent misunderstanding that most times when I see someone say pikal I know that they are talking about reverse edge in specifically.
