So I'm totally new here and I just got recommended to bring less to these forums because you guys know your stuff! I recently got in to starting to collect axes. This was my first one and id love to identify the maker but there is very little to go off of. The stamp says (3 1/2) and i havw yet to find a label that resembles the one i have. I dont have any expectations but i hope to be able to learn something!

That 3 1/2 stamp, on an American axe or a foreign one made for export, likely refers to the weight (or nominal weight) of the head in lbs.

If you can post some good pics of it, you’ll get better answers.

Try using postimage for picture hosting to post pics here

Love to help ya out, in the right direction

This is a Michigan pattern, looks to be a typical 3-1/2lb size which the stamp confirms, and I would say it is probably late 60's to early 1970's based on appearance.

I cannot place what I can see of the label, but I know it is something I've seen before.
Maybe a true value master mechanic label ?

That type of label dates to the 60s/70s. I don't recognize it. Likely a store brand label on some larger makers' home owner level axe. Probably Mann. Maybe Woodings-Verona.
