I pity the poor people down south. We are getting some of the bands of rain up here and my canopy over the forges collapsed and my cellar shop has 2 feet of water in it. I hope everything was off the ground in the cellar. I have no hot water the gas heaters are out too. My sump pump can't keep up.
Thanks God this is all that we got. :) We need the rain, but I guess I over did the rain dance. HEHEHEHE!!!!

yep, they got it real bad down south. My sister-in-law lives about 30 miles west of New Orleans. They drove up to her mothers here in MO. to get a way from it. From what they can tell with the media, their house was flooded, as far as the wind damage, they won't know until they go back, which will be 2 or 3 more days when they start letting people back in to that area. Her husband has a really good position with a big oil company down there and frequently makes trips around to all the oil sites, on and off shore. He said its really going to cause oil prices to climb, not that it really hurt anything or will affect oil production, but because the oil companies will use this to their advantage and make claims that it did. He told us things about the oil companies and how their screwing the American public that was mind blowing.

Went to FL to weather out H Jeanne with a friend. That was a cat 3. man does it sound nasty inside a house. spent the whole night on his porch smoken and jokin. Tried to do the naked hurricane dance but the wind was blowin saw palms around and i didnt want to get cut up. The looting has already started, hopefully the NG will be there to stop it. My prayers go out to them . I will take years to fix everything. :(

was expecting some "blow by" up here in Arkansas, but nothing so far.....nice and sunny, in fact.

We got a couple days of steady rain, nothing heavy. Added up to 4 or 5 inches I think, but we were so dry you wouldn't know it. Unfortunately it was too little too late for the crops, the corn was already turning 2 weeks ago. Some guys around here are expecting an average yield of 40 (normally would be 150) bushels
Can't imagine how it is down on the coast. Looks terrible. I think this is the first time I've ever heard of them having to evacuate the emergency shelters. Just have to pray they can turn things around soon.

My heart really goes out to those folks. It just keeps getting worse, and no end in sight really. I don't know what I'd do if our house blew away, and we get a near scare with a tornado every couple years. I have all our papers in a place I can snag em and run, but all the other stuff would just be gone. Those poor folks down there have lost everything, and there's just no way to replace the lifetime of memories accumulated in our "stuff."

Thinking of IG's basement, at least all my tools are off the floor a few feet - all of my benches are significantly higher than a "normal" person's would be, cause I'm real tall and so lazy I don't want to bend over for anything. ;)

Hey!! My Benches are the same way I'm only 6' tall. All the selves under my benches are 2' off the floor just in case it does get flooded. I really didn't lose much in my cellar shop this time, just a dozen or so of 2 X 72 belts. :D

IG sorry to hear You are having troubles with the storm too. I just cant thank my dad enough for moving the family west in 1964. I was born and raised in tornado country Kansas. Our daughter in-law is joining the Red Cross today to help with aid in the south. She is very excited to be able to help. This storm is and will continue to be felt throughout the entire USA.

Mr. Rebello, if you ever get materials to build a permanent structure for your alleged ( ) craft, I will most-definitely come down to help you build it. No bull$hit this time. Hell, we could cinder-block you a nice hot-shop out there in an afternoon, and use that no-mix mortar coating on them. Supposed to be stronger than troweled-in construction.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. Right now I am hurting for $$$$. Staying home and taking care of Helen doesn't pay as well as a regular job, but at least I do get payed thru MassHealth. :D
PS: Could you please send me a letter stating what you said in the above signed in your blood. HEHEHEHE!!!!

I will come down and stay permanently if you and Spankkler cook for me and feed me beers every day. :D

Seriously, you guys in Mass really get good state bennies. If you were up here in NH, with Helen's situation, they'd tell you to move to Mass, and that's no sheitzen! Cheep bastids up here. When I got fired this past spring, the most they would pay me for unemployment was something like $320 a week... and that was the absolute they paid anyone!

geez higgy you gotta move down here. i'm up for cooking for ya.

Don't worry about it. I still can't get into a routine for free time taking care of Helen 24/7 and the house. Last nite I was lucky if I got 4 hours of straight sleep.
