I was flipping through some older knife mags and came across a full page color ad for that wonderful knife company "Paragon". If youre not familiar with them, they are known for putting out a pretty poorly made auto, and as cheap as they are, theyre still a ripoff.
Well, this ad was for a manual liner lock, their new, best tactical folder line. Here is the thing. They showed the knife at an angle where you could clearly see the engagement of the liner lock. Well, here is where it gets interesting and truly mind boggling. First, the liner was PAPER thin, never saw one so thin, but thats not the amazing thing, whats amazing is, with the lock engaged, the liner was COMPLETELY, and all the way over on the right hand side, fully snug against the right hand side of the handle. With the blade locked open, the lock had travelled all the way across the blade tang and hit the liner/frame on the other side!!! This is such a glaring and obvious defect and clearly this knife has a horribly defective lock, so, 1) Out of the thousands of knives they sell, THIS was the BEST one they could find for their ad!!! 2) How on earth did they not notice that the one knife they chose to represent and sell their entire line and company for that matter, had a grossly defective lock!!! And then, they even took a picture of it so we can all see how horrible their knives really are!!!
This company may be knifemakers in the loosest sense of the word, but theyre not very bright.
Ill try to scan the picture and add it to the post.
Amazing, i thought i had seen it all, then there was Paragon.
