Does anyone here have the Gerber 3.25 AR Partially Serrated? Should I go for it, or should I get the other AR?

Which one do you think:

Model 1: http://www.gerberblades.com/products/view.php?model=8461

Model 2:http://www.gerberblades.com/products/view.php?model=5849

I have strong reasons against the Model 2: 1: The grade of stainless isn't corrosion resistant compared to model 1's 316 surgical, I hate liner locks, the handle is plated to get the champagne color, and I don't like the handle shape. But something in me still wants it over the model 1. You decide...it could help :)

I missed where it said model 1 was 316 stainless, which it might be, since they declined to give the steel a name.

I thought 316 stainless was not hardenable in the traditional sense.

OK, maybe I'll ask, why do want a Gerber?

It said "Surgical Stainless steel" and generally that refers to grade 316L, which is more corrosion resistant than the other. Why wouldn't I want a Gerber? They're beautiful knives. I saw these two, and like them both, but I'm leaning toward the Model 1.

440A won't rust unless you leave it in salt water. Plus it'll hold an edge over any 'surgical stainless' by a good margin. I would get the Model 2, at least for EDC use. For hard use, I would get the lock back, it looks a little tougher, but I doubt it would hold an edge.

I ordered my knife. I decided to get Model 1. I like it overall better. Thanks for the help...i took it into consideration.
