So I get my son a Silver Alox Electricians SAK because he is starting his electrical apprenticeship Monday:D.While I am looking online I decide to get myself a Super Tinker SAK. Well they arrived today and damn that Silver Alox knife is sweet. Now I am wanting to get a few of those for myself. Besides that I have the Benchmade 755 MPR on pre-order. I have a sickness and can't stop buying.:eek:What should I do?

once the bug bites you, there is no turning back.. just cut up your credit cards so you can't go into debt for your newfound toys..

Don't fight it, just give in to it and then you will feel all warm and fuzzy inside and life is complete!

How about joining a support group? You could find a local chapter of KKA (Knife Knuts Anonymous).

Or you could just accept yourself for who you are, including your wonderful, knife-buying disease.

Ultimately, it is self-correcting. Either you will amass so many knives that your rate of acquisition diminishes (like me), or you run out of money, or something intervenes to stop the madness.

In a matter of years, everyone on bladeforums will be worm food. Between now and then, there is no harm in feeding your knife obsession, as long as you are putting food on the table, paying your bills, saving for retirement, and so forth. Carpe knifem. A few years from now, no one will know or care how much you spent on knives way back when.

A while ago I sold almost all of my knives because I knew it was getting a little out of hand. I had too many than I knew what to do with.

What did I do with the money?....:D (do I even have to say?;))

No joke...I've tried all sorts of things to limit my knife spending from setting limits to telling my girlfriend to stop me. Nothing works.

For 2010 i had a limit....blew that before the year even started. What's the point? Knives make us happy.

My wife thinks I have too many. I'm only at about 50.

So very true. Paying for necessities comes first , but buying a knife WITHIN your budget is a great pastime. But like all things , this too will pass. There will come a time when I have too many , and I'll just be satisfied with what I have. ( Sooner than later , methinks :D)

Nice knife; i love Victornox. Sog makes a knife called the "Kilowatt" and its very handy.I'm a mach. builder, and do a lot of wiring. I would highly recomend the Kilowatt..besides, can you ever have too many knives..

Powernoodle nailed it!

I am finding myself just enjoying what I have, more so than "shopping/buying" new knives. Heck, I hardly ever click on the exchange these days :o

Knife collections don't take up a lot of space. The knives can be used for practical applications. They have resale value. Mostly they are a fun harmless obsession. What can you do with a beer can collection?

A lil alox never hurt anybody. C'mon you know you want a few more. A Wenger standard issue perhaps? Maybe a pioneer harvester for the hawkbill blade and awesome saw? And what collection would be complete without a red alox farmer? I know, what you need is a green alox cadet.

Go on...give in. You *know* you want to...
