Even though it was technically illegal to do so since the blade is 0.2" too long here in Texas, since I was just planning on staying in my hometown, I decided to see what it was like to carry my new ZT0100 yesterday. I also wanted to show it off to some coworkers
I have been carrying a smaller fixed blade (Buck471) at 8:00 just ahead of my flashlight & spare magazine for around a year. I also carry a smaller folder clipped on my right front pocket (this time was a G10 Leek) ahead of my pistol @ 4:00 which tucks into the front edge of my right rear pocket over my billfold. I tuck the sheath into the forward edge of my back pocket. I didn't use the handle strap on the 100's sheath since the plastic liner does a good enough job of retention. And I didn't have anything in the outside pocket of the sheath. That pocket kept getting hung up on my jeans pocket when I would get out of my truck or when I pulled the knife out. That was a pain each time getting out of the truck, but actually seemed to help when putting the blade back into the sheath since the slot is kinda small. The extra weight & length was only slightly more noticeable to carry. If the sheath were slightly trimmer then it would've been easier. Mic Dundee's "THAT'S a knife!" line was used by a few of my coworkers & friends. They say the same when I carry one of my big Cold Steel folders.
I have to say that this is a heck of a chunk of steel! Very nice overall shape & balance. The 3D G10 handles feel really comfortable any way you hold them. I haven't HAD to use it really, but when using my 0301s the shape of the knife has been good. I wish I still worked with the guy who introduced me to the ZT line with his 0200. He would've been drooling over this thing
If the overall shape were downsized to where the blade was closer to 5", & the sheath was shrunk accordingly, I would be so tempted to carry it every day like this.
