I changed my User Name

I forgot to mention it when I posted this past weekend when I posted about the Knifemaker status. At the same I renewed my membership and upgraded to Knifemaker, I changed my user name from jmxcpter to Excitable Boy. jmxcpter was the handle I started with on AOL in 1996 and Blade Forums was the last place on the net where it still existed. I've been Excitable Boy on every forum I've registered on in the last several years.

I thought about changing to my real name, but then I'd still be different here from anywhere else and it's sort of a tribute to Warren Zevon who was a long time favorite of mine when I started using that user name, and is no longer with us:(

Besides, I always put my real name in my profile anyway.
 
Hey John, not to poo on your parade, but I'd recommend you set it to your real name. I know you're diving head first into making, and I think it helps to let people know who you really are.

Just an idea :)
 
I agree, Nick. If you have a knifemaker title, there's nothing like your real name to get people used to who you are. If you read my sticky "Who the Heck Are Ya?" at the top, my very first post was geared to telling people who are interested in knifemaking to do this. Its hard enough to remember people's real names let alone decipher who they are in the cyber world and what their alias is in real life. No offense, Excitable Boy, but you should change it to your real name so we can really get to know ya. ;)

Mods... Can you unsticky that thread at the top and let it die? Its I dont think it gets read anymore.
 
Any way to change a username? Ive always used TikTock since I was given the name as a trailname on a 400 mile through-hike. I probably want my real name up there, but don't feel like shelling out another 40$ just to change it.

Jeff, I read the thread when someone posts to it, but only the recent posts. I guess it's been a long time since I read the beginning of it. I'll have to chew on this a day ot two.
