I chipped my bark river vest pocket bowie...Help

I was chopping some wood and accidentally hit a nail...and got a nasty chip its about 2.5mm high and 3mm long.Whats the best way of fixing this(its convex grind knife).Without sending it to Bark river.Also I was cutting some carpet before I did chopping and noticed my razor sharp knife losing edge quickley.I dont know if this is normal for 1085 steel as i didnt cut much carpet with it and didnt have wire edge on my knife(it was shawing sharp ).

Ain't that the truth. I tried using carpet as a test media, and quickly gave it up - nothing stands up to it.

Sending it back would make it new.

I hit some nails with my junglas and tho the dented edge wasn't as deep I took em out with a corse and fine diamond hone in about 45 min by putting a slightly more obtuse angle on it . Hope this helps !!
