I meet up with my sponsor once a week to discuss step work. Today, he asked me for a recommendation for a folding knife so I sent him a link for a Spyderco Paramilitary.

A bit of background... a year ago, I gave him a small damascus lockback on his sobriety birthday. Turns out that he never owned a pocket knife in his life and he uses it everyday.

Well... he texted me an hour after the meeting. Said he ordered not only the Paramilitary but a Persistence and a Techno. Then he asked me about a good fixed blade to keep in the truck so I told him about the modified ZT9 I'm selling. Long story short, he's buying it tomorrow.

I feel so happy!

 
Even though I don't know you I always enjoy hearing about your sobriety. However I secretly hold hostility toward you; just because of you I always want a waved insingo sebenza. IMO that knife was your best work and I want it!

Really though I dig your threads cause you always seem to want to improve apon a knife just like me
 
Charley, the easier way to convert a guy is to show him Spydercos. You did GOOD!

I'm not very familiar with the ZT9, how have you modified it?

Nice work there! Bringing a new knife knut into the dimension of no return :) That ZT9 is a nice piece of work, you can barely recognize it anymore! And congratulations on the sobriety! :thumbup:
 
Ok, I see. I recognized the knife, but wasn't sure what had been changed. I like the look of your modified version.
 
Wow, a man that has never owned a pocket knife. That's crazy. I'm sure now that he's carrying one he can't imagine NOT having one.
That is pretty cool getting him into knives like that. Just make sure he doesn't start blowing all his money on knives.

What type of Damascus folder did you get him?
