fogdart fogdart hey mate this is not the subforum for sales....you've got some beauties for sure...a rule of thumb on values is ebay completed sales...there you find what is being paid....sometimes quite astounding amounts are being asked...have you posted them up in the for sale section of bladeforums?

Thx. My intent was not to try to sell them here. I was just trying to get an idea of the value before I posted them. I did go to ebay but was kinda' shocked at the prices there. I want to be fair with my pricing. Blade Forum folks are the best and I want to price these reasonably.

I agree with meako on ebay completed items. I buy knives (folders) on ebay and if it's a discontinued knife then I usually take the average sale price as a benchmark. That's not to say I want to pay that price. I usually try to hit 70-80% of that number when trying to win an item or stay clear away if it exceeds it. Obviously, I don't win much, but in my mind that's a "fair" deal. Worst case, you can always throw it on the sales forum and reduce it if it doesn't sell within a few hours. If the traditional folders is like the other forums, they'll get picked up eventually or members will make offers. Just have an idea of what your bottom number is, like 70-80% off list price. Hope that helps.

Another good pricing source - I think - is All About Pocket Knives. Lots of knowledgable and fair sellers on that forum. You can search by Brand or by pattern.
Often times the vendors accept offers ,which tells you a bit about the approximate value. You do have some very fine examples there.

(Sorry, not sure why I lost the quote box! 🤔)

meako meako is correct my friend, you might want to ask a mod to move this thread 👍

From the sub-forum guidelines:
Per the rules of the exchange and in furtherance of curtailing potential abuse of membership privileges associated with the forums, questions regarding valuation of knives and collections are limited to those with a membership level which permits selling on this site. Accordingly, registered and basic members may not start or post in threads with such requests whether with the intent to sell or for informational purposes only. Even with that caveat, the Traditional forum is probably not the proper venue for such questions and such threads may be moved to a more appropriate area of the site.

I am one of those who will gladly help you. :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Sorry folks... Looks like I'm busting the rules by posting the original request here... sorry. I'll get them posted on the sales forum as soon as I can research the pricing. I ended up with these over the years because I liked how they looked. Never had any interest in them being 'collectible'. Am getting to the age where I need to 'clean house' before my wife has to do it before I die!
Thanks for all your responses and sorry again about busting the rules.

From my perspective no rule was broken. There really isn't a more appropriate place for your question, that I know of.

Your Gold Membership allows you to ask value questions. One of the perks. That said I think you got some good input.

If I was selling on the Exchange I'd do the following:
*Search completed deals on ebay and in the Exchange.
*Establish a selling price you are comfortable with, based on the results.
*State you will entertain reasonable offers, no lowballs.
*State you reserve the right to sell to whomever you please.
Good luck!

I'll leave the thread closed as it's going off topic.
