chiruwa style grip, blade shows signs of being laminated. scabbard trim appears to be silver.
will supply more info on arrival.

it's from a local (non-ebay) dealer here in the UK who already has a lot of my money. ;)

Food is overrated. I was just mentioning good'ol Ramen and Shavru said it's not bad? (I agree.)

That's an interesting design to say the least.

That's way way cool. Anxious for more info and pictures when it's in hand.

not sure if it's original, looks like it was made specifically for this blade tho.

vendor's discription is all the info i have now.

Nepalese Kukri
Nice white metal sheath (probably a low grade silver) Nepalese kukri. Long slender blade. Looks like Damascus patern on part of the blade. Condition is pretty good. Sheath is in good order, no splits.

spelling theirs. ;)

Gorgeous, no matter what. I hope you will thoroughly enjoy it!

just had someone comment elsewhere that they thought the scabbard may be a mid 20th c. replacement but the blade is likely pre-1860-ish, not a mono steel, and a strictly weapon form rather than a tool. possibly from a afghani or princely state in the northern mountain regions

will have more info when it arrives.

That is well worth a bit of a dietary cut back, great catch Kron. I would recommend many casserole dishes I learned while Hubby was back at college and I was a new working woman with an entry level wage, both of us freshly released from the Army. Some of them include things Mac & Cheese with ground beef, cream of mushroom soup and frozen peas; Ramen with a variety of toppings mostly fresh veggies grown out my back door; ect. Also keep in mind that many larger grocery stores sell roasted chickens as a loss leader item (they actually cost less than you can buy a raw one of similar size) expecting to make up the difference when you buy pre-made side dishes. they can be dismembered and turned into many many fine meals. Yep, you don't have to starve just because you used a lot of the grocery budget on a new blade. Just get creative and when it doesn't turn out, remind yourself how much you LOVE that new blade you are going to go spend time with after dinner :D

ramen in assorted flavours with a topping of mixed veg, pork in various guises, is a daily scheduled item.
have a market that sells a family sized pepperoni pizza for £0.79, for the occasional treat.
found some canned pulled pork in bbq sauce on sale at asda - they had some cheap eggs too.
red beans & rice, with french sausage & ham hock also on the menu. they frown on me collecting rabbits and squirrels
here, but the occasional pheasant is easy meat.

I thought that our american grey squirrel was considered an invasive species over there, displacing the native red squirrel, and everyone was encouraged to kill or trap as many of them as possible? I have other friends in the UK that keep traps out for grey squirrels, and when they have caught enough for a meal, they cook them up. Or don't you have any grey squirrels in Gloucestershire?

i pre- thanked y'all on ikrhs & the other place, but i'll thank everyone again here as well. :)

vielen danke

Well a simple thanks or cheers would have been good. ;) Polite at least....

He has has a mouthful of pork and rabbit right now Spiral. He'll be back when its digested;) Great info man! When did "mono" steel get introduced to the region for Khukri making? Just curious. I just bought an old Moro Barong of laminated steel from the Philippines and was curious how old it may be.

Any idea on length and weight?
Just curious how it compares to its modern grandchildren from Sher.
Thank you.
