I Cut Into My Strop Help! :(

Using that grit on a powered palm sander works very well too.

I have quite a few nicks and slits in my strop. I really can't tell if it is having any effect on the final edge.

If it has a effect I haven't been able to tell.

This strop is about due for a re-surfacing only because I don't like the way it looks but other than that it works fine.

Mine are nicked a fair bit from the occasional slip. If there's a small flap of leather from the nick, I trim it off and re-apply compound, and keep going. If I get too many, I sand off the whole works down to fresh leather, and once again, re-apply compound.
