Found at the bottom of a rust bucket today... strangely shaped eye,
significant mushrooming. No visible logo (yet). Any ideas what era
and region this may be from ? And, what is this type of ax head referred
to as ? Thank you .

Charles,i'm sorry to say it's a common,garden-variety American single-bit,wore out almost completely(toe-wise especially),and Then destroyed by being beat on.The eye is distorted from that latter outrage.
 
Perfect Jake...thank you very much. I passed on it as the eye was all catty-whompus,
and the it looked too beat up for my skill level. Some times a fella just has to
walk away. Thanks again.
