Wonder how long I'll have to wait. Also, this will be my first time with rechargeable 123's. Will I get more output with these than I would from primarie?

Missed your Ra did ya? ;) Congrats!

Output on RCR with the HDS should be the same as on a primary CR123a if I recall correctly, only with a shorter runtime. The advantage is being able to recharge when needed, and an added bonus to RCR use is one of the many features HDS employs - over-discharge protection for rechargeable batteries.

Read up on RCR use if you haven't done so already: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...-Using-Li-ion-cells-in-LED-flashlights-safely

Yup. I carry a Thrunite TN12 right now but I like having a smaller light that I can clip on top of my shoulder to face forward.

I bought a Four Sevens Quark Tactical QTL.

A Nitecore i2 charger, and two RCR123A batteries.

I decided on this light because I get up two hours before daylight everyday, and I needed a light with a clip that is backwards. ie window facing up so I can clip it on the brim of my hat.

It has 240 lumens on high, and the cells give me enough light for the full two hours until daylight. I know it's a cheap light @ 50-60 or so, but it works for me.

On a side note, the Nitecore RCR123A cells have OUTSTANDING charge/discharge protection.

I just dropped 700 on a Busse and 500 on a Fehrman today, so I should not even venture over to Candlepower forums now...but I will :)

I know the feeling. I just bought a pair of Spyderco Szabo folders. I'm gonna wave em. One in each pocket.

Nice buy!!I have a HDS rotary (but I almost never carry it) with silver bezel and Nichia 219 HiCRI emitter.

The RCR123's will give a noticeably shorter run time but their advantages outweight the one disadvantage and AW is one of the best (safest, most likely to be at or above stated capacity). As mentioned please take some time to get well versed with the safety aspect of Li-ion batteries, they can be VERY dangerous.

You'll love your HDS, I love mine but its more of a collectors item when I have over 3 dozen nice lights from larger brands. I EDC 2 lights on me and have multiple others within reach, a Foursevens quark burst mode QP2L-X (which I run on an eagletac 17650) and a zebralight SC52w that I run on a eagletac 14500 (for 550 lumens from a light smaller than my index finger!) I save the HDS strictly as a "gentlemens" light for when I'm wearing dress slacks, it gets so many compliments from non-light people on how it works and how bright 200 lumens is, imagine when I show them my 1100 lumen C8 thrower (that I built for $44)

This will be my second HDS light. I had (and lost) a 170T a couple years ago.

I hope you can do a comparison ( some testing) between the two knives! So that we can see which one you prefer

Congrats on your new purchases. I agree, you did it the right way. I'm running rechargable batteries in most of my lights and this has saved me a ton of money. BTW A Nice light is a nice light and those sounds really nice. :)

Thanks. The guys at HDS told me 6-8 weeks wait.

Yup, from him.
