Sorry I haven't been around in a while, it has been a rough few months. First a family vacation to Florida to see my father ended up being an extended stay for me because his situation was rapidly deteriorating. So, luckily I can work pretty much anywhere I can access woods, a post office, and a place to charge batteries. I ended up staying another 6 or 7 weeks and working in the south Florida swamps for a while. The internet connection at the hotel I was staying at sucked and between spending time with my dad and working on projects I didn't have a lot of spare time on my hands anyway. After that I had to leave Florida earlier than I wanted to because of a situation my oldest daughter had run into. So when I got home I had my hands full with that, trying to play catch up on yard work because after being gone for two months my yard looked like a jungle clearing following a series of monsoons. Plus trying to catch up financially after all of the expenses of the trip to Florida, and catch up on family time with my wife and youngest as well. Then two weeks ago my father passed away and for the last eight days I've been dealing with one hell of a round of the flu. Hopefully things will level off now and I can get back to participating in the forum.

As an aside, the BK-11 CSM that I have became a go to neck knife while I was working in the swamps so the only worry was maintaining the edge. The knife did really well at corrosion resistance which given the harshness of the environment was nice.

One good thing about being on the bottom, the only way to look is up. Hang in there my friend, and so sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the moral support guys, I really appreciate it. It's been a fairly depressing couple of months

Glad to have you back, keep yer chin up!

One of the projects I worked on while I was gone was a piece for SRI that should be publishing soon. It features a knife I think you're fairly fond of :)

Ooh, I like the sound of that!

I'm kinda gettin caught up too Mist. As you know I got the devil lung and had my spell of bad luck as well. I'm real sorry for the loss of your father. My old man and I have issues but it saddens me to think of him as not being around. I also hope you get to feeling better too. But for what its worth I'm sure glad to see you home, safe, and back among friends here on BF. Keep your head up brother!

Yeah, I hope you're starting to get over that stuff man. Thanks, I know what you mean. Dad and I had issues that went back several years, but they suddenly seemed less important at his passing. Yeah, I'm glad to be home too man, and looking forward to the gathering.

Sorry to hear about your dad Mist. I know how that is. But , It's good to have you back .
Jeff

Keep on keepin' on, mistwalker. Times like these that spending time in nature becomes essential to one's soul. Take care of that first, and if you get a chance to post about your explorations and foraging scores we'd love it, but take care of you and yours first.

Glad to see you back online MW... my condolences to you and your family and Godspeed to your father. Older daughters willl do that... whatever that was, good to hear things are getting better.
