These came in grey. Anyone have any info on them? ( A 444 with a 1998 date code.)

I cant find any info in the catalogs on the BCCI site. I have one in a twin 442/444 set with 1998 date stamps.

My daughter has this one which I believe is also 98 stamp.

I was sure I saw a picture of a red one on her somewhere but couldn't find it now.
Like imafritz said, I've never seen anything but black in the catalogs either.

They have a wide variety of colors in the 444 "Flick-it" models with the semi serated blade and thumbstud. The only other color I would think the 444 would come in is Olive drab, but I think that is solely on the 442.

I think the gray handles were developed for use as Buck Workman Knives but became build out knives to use up the handles. I don't have my records handy but I believe the Workman knives were phased out prior to the build outs becoming available.

I seem to recall that the gray ones were used in the pictured above double set that Sam's Club sold around 1998 -1999. I could be wrong, but that is what I think was the case.
