I didn't realize how much I missed the Sebenza

A year ago I sold the CRK knives I had to get some things we needed for our home. Money was tight and I couldn't justify keeping the knives I had when we needed to take care of some necessary things. I had a S35VN Umnumzaan (pre LBS and old pivot), Large Sebenza 21, and Large Sebenza 21 with Micarta Inlays, and a Small Sebenza 21. I have missed those knives ever since. So last week, a year later, after selling most of the knives from my collection that I didn't use, I pulled the trigger on another Sebenza 21 and a new Umnumzaan. The dealer I purchased the Sebenza from upgraded the shipping to overnight for free, much to my surprise.

It is very smooth out of the box and "just feels right." It is exactly as I had expected it to be: Blade is centered, lockup is solid, opening of the knife is buttery smooth. Below are pictures I took a few minutes ago. Now I just need to decide whether or not to remove the lanyard. In the past I have always removed them because I don't have lanyards on any of my other knives. At work I wear a shirt and tie and the lanyard makes the knife a little more obvious, but that's okay I guess.

The Umnumzaan should arrive today as well, but probably in a few hours.

Congrats! I bet it feels like a childhood Christmas. I keep lanyards on my smaller knives to help me get a grip, but see no need on a Large Sebenza.

Good to see things are turning around for you, congrats.

Thank you. I am pretty excited about it. I think I am going to remove the lanyard. I may leave it on for a couple of days to see if I like it.

Thank you very much. Our philosophy around the house is in order to buy something new you need to save for it or sell something you no longer want.

Welcome back and glad things are going better for you. Nothing beats knives from CRK!:D

Here is a picture of both of them together. I went ahead and took the lanyards off of them.
