I just ordered a Breacher Bar from County Comm and cant wait for it to get here. Ive already figued out how to spend $100 on a $12 tool to make it what I want. Im struggling about buying a prybar though. Im really digging one of the mini's from County Comm. Im just wondering what you guys are using them for. Im wondering if its one of those situations where if you need to ask then you dont need to know. I really like the mini's w/ a wrap on em , just for the gadget factor, just wondering what they are used for in EDC.

I keep mine w/ me: it's part of my edc family, just like the flashlight, the keychain light, multitool, SAK, cordage, electrical & duct tape, Buck stockman, plus the usual 2 or 3 tacticool folders. The way I look at it, if I need to pry with my knife& don't have a screwdriver, I do have the prybar, however! (Ialso carry a 4-way screwdriver btw!)

I LOVE MY PRYBAR! it gets used every day at work and at home. I simply bought a Stanley mini nail puller and cu off the "L" nail lifter bit, rounded off the edges and left the other edge (the slight curve end).

I have a passion for making prybars and often get distracted from my forging to make another. They are an extremely useful tool.

I like to make them to application and access. I forge them to the proper length for the tool box or glove box where they will be stored. I tend to make mainly pinchbars. If I get a flat on a gravel road with a large truck I have to dig into the road to get my hydraulic jack and the pinch "L" shaped end will handle the project rather quickly. I use a chisel or tapered end. If I run these down into the high 40's RC they will work as a throwing spike, I tend to like low 50's. The length of the pinch verses the length of the bar can give you a predictable leverage factor.

I like 5160 and 1080 for steel and 6-4 Titanium. I tend to prefer the steel over the Titanium because I like the weight when I beat on stuff with them. I've been carrying a 12 inch upset "W's" damascus bar for about 10 years and have enjoyed using the tool.

Have fun with your prybars...Take Care...Ed

How do you use it everyday??

my mini wedgy from CC has been on my keychain for a while now. I has really come in handy :) Basically, i use it to pry  anything that I would not want to pry with my knife. I am a big believer in that a knife is made for cutting, not prying. And there is a lot of other uses for it, notching, scraping, cuticles, ect.

Granted you can spend a lot of cash on a cool Atwood keychain tool, but personally the $5 CC version works very well for me ;)

I concur completely with BoxANT.
The County Comm mini pry bars(Widgie bars, I think they're called) are great for EDC prying needs. Ant cheap to boot; $5 apop, I bought all my co-workers one, and they are used frequently.

That is the lanyard that comes on a Cop Tool (skull and all).

Franky I don't use mine much, I keep it in the car right next to me. I haven't needed it, which is good news, i guess!

That one looks like the perfect size

Try to get a Titanium PB. Did you see Haze's PB's, in the Gallery? ;)

Or you can see them here :D

If your going to use the tip of your knife for something you can usually use a mini pry bar instead.
Thats what i carry mine for

Just ordered CC's mini and a few other doo-dads from them - everything was so cheap it was hard to resist!

Would live an Atwood but I just emailed him and he doesn't have anything in the works right now I'd want. I love the simple bar Haze has which I gather he made himself (going to go look in the Gallery now).

Another prybar freak here...

I have one of the little County Comm ones on my keychain. Its a tough little sucker. I just wrapped black duct tape around mine though (so it doesn't bang so much). Haven't gotten round to putting paracord on yet.

I also have one of the miniature ones (and that is wrapped in paracord). They're about 6-7 inches long, with a L-shape bend on one end.

Now I'm looking for a bigger size one to keep in the truck, just in case. :D

Unfortunately we don't have the really cool Stanley ones like the FatMax and FUBAR out here.

Prybars rock!

I had an Atwood Prybaby for a while, but as much as that is a great gadget, IMO the mil-spec one from CC does a better job. Why? The ends are sharper, so you can squeeze it into tighter spaces. Its also one hang of a lot cheaper!

I use mine to scrape gunk off of my Weber grill, lift paint tin lids, remove staples, scrape dogshit off my shoe... best $5 I ever spent.

Here are a few of mine:

They mostly get used to dig around the dirt for fossils , scrape mud off my boots & stuff like that.
I also don't like to pry with my knives , so they do come in handy when something needs prying.
I've used the Breacher Bar to baton wood to save my knife edge from time to time too. It sits in the cargo pocket of my pants.
