I've been looking for a Civilian for sometime. I've had my eye out for a G-10 plain edge when I came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=727350460&rd=1

Pretty cool. I just got it and it appears to be in almost perfect condition. I would say 99% I put a low bid on it expecting before I left for vacation not to win it but when I got back you guessed it I won it. I figured it must have been the bad description that caused it not to go higher.

Well I just had to gloat.

You definitely got a nice deal, there!
I have not seen a G-10 Civie with plain edge. To my understanding, they weren't produced this way. You can possibly locate a PE with the same kind of aluminum/Tuffram scales you just purchased, or one of the limited run carbon fiber models in PE...these are the options I know of.

I actually thought it didn't look to pretty from the pictures but finally seeing one in person I have changed my mind. It actually looked like the handles were fat from pictures I had seen but they are actually quite slim.

Thanks for setting me straight on the plain edge G-10. I guess it's one of those knives that I imagined in my head and decided it must be reality. I wouldn't mind having one of the CF models as a collectors piece. I've never been good at keeping collector pieces though as I hate having a knife I can't carry especially when they cost so much. That was one of the perks about this one. A great knife for a unbelievable price.

Wow that is a steal for that knife, I got mine for $150 and that was a decent price. They are the first edition Civilian. You can actually sometimes find that model with a plain edge, and the other Civilian version with plain edge is the Carbon Fiber one.

I had my eye on that auction on ebay. I am glad it was a fourmite that grabbed that knife. That was such a steal.

Sounds like I owe you a thank you for not bidding on this one. I was kind of surprised there weren't any other forumites bidding on it. I know some of you have won knives I wanted. Maybe we should agree on not bidding on each others items :p

I was telling myself to not buy anymore knives when I first saw that auction. Silly me. I just went and started a transaction for an emerson and trade talks for another knife. The part of my conscience that says no don't buy anymore has been non-exsistant save for that momentary laspe with the civillian auction on e-bay.

Wow got another deal. I was looking for another G-10 Civilian when I came across another one of these. He described it as almost new. The only marks are from where the knife hinges. I picked it up for $108.00 which I believe is pretty good. It was another eBAY win. There was only one other bidder except when I bid in the last 5 seconds so did someone else. Luckily my bid was slightly higher.

Just noticed the link I posted doesn't work anymore. The knives I won were both serrated Tuffram Civilians.

sigsauer,

Congratulations! Do you have any way of posting a picture of those beauties?

Jeff/1911.

Jeff, I might be able to. It's been quite awhile since I've posted a pic so I'm a bit rusty. I also need to find some where I can post them as the place I used to use charges now and I'm to cheap to pay. If I can I will put them up in about two weeks. I need to refresh my memory anyway.

I don't know whether I should still look for a good deal on a G-10 or carry one of these. Decisions decisions.
