Hello,

I don't get it. I wont to buy a mini Griptilian for EDC work and privet. I live in the Netherlands and there are difference between Mini Griptilian PE en the Griptilian 556??
What is the difference between http://www.eliteknife.com/product/benchmade-mini-griptilian-pe
and http://www.eliteknife.com/product/benchmade-mini-griptilian-pe-556??

I would love to get a good less expensive mini Griptilian from the US but the shipping cost and tax make them extreme expensive.
Maybe there is someone how will help me ship one from the US?

Regards

Berry

Based on the description (not the pictures) it looks like one is a different color? Both the full size and the mini come in a few different colors. Then you can get it with the thumbstud saber grind or thumb hole hollow grind, then plain or combo edge.

I askt it to the seller.
This is his answer I translated it with google so it may look weird?

The differences are as follows:
1. Benchmade Mini Griptilian PE
color: green
Brand: Benchmade
steel: stainless
Steel: 154CM
Blade: smooth / plain
Handle: plastic
Handle: Noryl GTX
Hardness (RC) 58-60
Origin: America
Length: 17.00 cm
Weight: 77 grams
Clip: J
Designer: Mel Pardue design
application: Daily Use
additional information: Axis Lock

2. Benchmade Mini Griptilian PE 556
Colour: Black
Brand: Benchmade
steel: Steel 154cm
Blade: smooth / plain
Handle: carbon/G10
Handle: Noryl GTX
Hardness (RC) 58-61
Origin: America
Length: 17.00 cm
Weight: 77 grams
Clip: J
Designer: Mel Pardue design
use: daily use
additional information: 154cm steel, Noryl GTX handle

Are there really different hardness in blades and material in handles?

None of them are carbon/g10 (except maybe the really limited editions), and the hardness shouldn't be different. That part's a typo...

Hi frigide -

Your translation did not work on the handles - both of your links show the standard Noryl handle material, while one of your translations shows a carbon/G10 handle material.

Benchmade has different levels of "quality", the blue (standard and very good) and the Gold, which is much higher in price and can have more exotic handle materials and blade materials.

The model number 556 is the model number for the mini-griptilian.

The two links you posted picture and describe a knife that is very similar.

For your purposes, a daily user, I would go with the cheaper of the two you linked.

I love a mini-griptilian, and own both a full-sized grip and a mini.

A fine knife for everyday carry an use.

Just for fun, check out the page on the Benchmade site where you can customize a brand new Grip for you

G10 handles are way better than plastic. The difference in hardness between the two is negligible. As far as shipping, I can't help you out there but maybe someone else here can.
