The crkt keydashi is a good and somewhat inovative knife. However, you don't see it mentioned all that much. I have one and love it as a small fixed blade.

So myy question is, why is it ignoured so much?

That has got to be one of the ugliest designs I have seen in a while. I can't think of anything it would be good for. The sheath looks hard to use also.

Because we are too busy discussing our crappy swiss army knives to be bothered with high end cutlery like that!:D

I try not to go out of my way to bash them too much these days, but here it's actually pretty relevant.

CRKT has steadily lowered their standards in the last few years, I have a really hard time recommending anything they make just because so much of it is trying to compete with $2 flea market knives. Yes, they can and do make some great knives, but for people like me there's a stigma attached to the brand that I prefer to avoid.

Just from on line pics, it looks like a fairly useless blade shape. I don't rely see any reason to bother looking any further.

Looks like a copy of the Eskimo and Arctic traditional knife...the ULU.

This is Flavio Ikoma's (co-creator of IKBS) design. Here are some videos he shot when the custom version was just created and he was testing it out.

Just because you like something doesn't mean it's the same for everyone...

They are hard to come by. Shipping from outer space to earth is expensive!

quick and simple answer is that CRKT just does not have the number of fan boys that other brands have

Because so many knife collecters are sheep. They're terrifed of being labelled "mall ninjas" and avoid anything even remotely innovative. [ these guys should be called "knife grannies " or "knife weenies" ]
I think the Keydashi looks very cool and I'm planning on getting one.

I think it looks neat, but the design is not ideal for my purposes so I'll pass in favor of other designs more suitable for what I do.

Silly attempt at re-inventing the wheel. Bottom line is that if one attempts to reinvent the wheel, or any other simple device that functions well (like a knife), one really has to knock it out of the park by improving on the function of the original.

If you don't do that, what you get is something not innovative, but something that is just a novelty.

That said, if the world is suddenly over-run with little itty-bitty walruses....that's the knife! I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I am unashamedly a mall ninja and I still don't find that knife attractive. :p
