I don't have a desire for a new knife...

I hear ya, just dont feel right without one comin in the mail. i have two coming , Boker Fellow damascus tomarrow and a Sean O'Hare Sparrow in damasteel that should be here next week. just search more, you will find one.

If you're satisfied, don't go off and peruse the Amsterdam 2011 thread in the Spyderco forum... you could wake the beast!

I go through short periods like that too, sometimes a few months.
Last year I went through a 3 or 4 month period where I didn't even think about buying knives , but I made up for it toward the end of the year.

Right now I seem to be uninterested in the new offerings by the big knife companies and have been buying some older or discontinued models. I've also been buying more traditional styles knives too.

I carry two knives daily. I have three spares of each model in my gun safe. I find various knives interesting but have no intention of buying anything.

Sounds like you're entering a phase in a relationaship where nothing interests you anymore, so you either give it up or you could spice it up again with something different, something new.

Go ahead and get one of those tacticlol knives, that oughta do the trick.

I'm in the same situation as the OP. I have approx 10 knives with several makers waiting to be modded or completed.

I think you've hit on something there....Go ahead, explore new horizons, check out that greener grass! I say just go for it, go cheat on all those faithful knives of yours :D

I'm just now pulling out of it. I went months without buying a knife. All the knives I looked at just seemed boring and I kept putting the griptilian in my pocket.

Right now I have two knives on the way, only due to the reviews here. A manix with carpenter steel and a para 2. Oh, and I placed a order last month for my first sebenza.

I'm with you. My desire to buy anything new has faded. Maybe when the new ZT/Hinderer flipper and the 0550 are released I'll get interested again. . .

That just mean you are content, and that is a good thing.

Absolutely! Nothing wrong with that. I can't remember the last time I bought a néw knife. I have sold all but 7 of my knives and love every one of them.

I think your right, funny how contentment feel odd.

I am on a waiting list for the Tilt when it comes out, but I'm not chomping at the bit for one. My attitude is more like if I can get one great if not, all well. I'm just really happy with everything I have, and everything I have fits all my needs perfectly. I'll probably soon be like Charlie Mike and whittle my collection down to just a hand full keepers and sell off the rest.

I experienced a similar feeling after taking the plung into more expensive knives (i.e. Busse-kin, Chris Reeve) I guess I was just content but eventually I found knives that interested me again especially slipjoints now talk about addictive:eek:, trust me browse around for a little while and spice it up a little and you'll find stuff you realy can't live without if not it's no big deal and you probably a pretty good collection anyways.
