I don't know which to get! Flat ground Endura, Stretch CE, Millie (for extremely low price), or a Native? Any problems with lock or tip on the Military?

Andrew

Can't go wrong with any, but there's a bit of variation there. The Millie being quite a bit larger than the rest.

Which Native were you looking at? The s30v Native was my first Spyderco, and I truly love the ergonomics of this knife. It carries very thin and light in the pocket, but fits in your hand like a larger knife because of the choil.

The Endura is a staple in the Spyderco line up, great EDC.

Shouldn't be anything "wrong" with the tip or lock on a Military. The tip is rather thin, so I wouldn't try to stab through concrete with it, but it's not glass either.

The stretch LOOKS like a perfect EDC for me, but I've never handled one. Seems like it has everything going for it, though.

If you have somewhere to fondle all of these, that would probably help. Several of these models are THE knife for certain people, it's just hard to say which one until you've handled them all. The Endura and Millie seem to have the largest following out of all of them.

I have owned all of the knives you are thinking about. For me, the Stretch has been the most versatile, and my favorite of those mentioned.

I would go with the one that you can get the best deal on now (Military). I say that because I would likely get all the rest of of them down the road having an equal interest in them all now, but thats just how I roll. :D

The Millie is a bit big and stout for my EDC needs, but I think it's a great choice for a BOB. I have a Native & Endura in my EDC rotation. I never really liked the looks of the Stretch but after handling one it is starting to grow on me, especially the ZDP Blue version.

I'd buy the military...then buy another military.;)

Why as a matter of fact, I did and then did it again...six more times. ;)

I have never been able to warm up to the Stretch, probably because the lines just bother me. The Endura was a bust for me too, as it didn't feel right in my hand and it didn't have a choil. As for the Millie and Native, I simply can't say enough good things about them. They both carry in your pocket like there is nothing there, they both have choils (I like choils) and they are both one of the finest knives in their class. In fact, I would nominate the Military as the best designed folder made today.

Anyway, that is my completely biased opinion. :)

If blade length is not an issue legally, the best ergos for me are on the military. Nothing comes close to the way to the way it fits my hand. The only word that comes to mind when I open the blade and and it just seems to spin to a proper grip by itself is "sweet"
Tip is a little thin but unless you pry or try to bore holes in hard material should not be a problem.

I would get the millie then stretch then endura then native! I say get the millitary first.

Just to add confusion, I wear large size gloves and the Military is still too big for me. Something about it doesn't feel right for ME even though I like some bigger knives like the Rukus and the Volt is pretty big. The stretch would be my pick from that group, especially one with a ZDP blade. It is one of my favorite Spyderco along with the FFG sprint run Manix 2 and the ZDP Caly 3. Those are the 3 best knives they make IMO.

Edit: The Gayle Bradley is up there as well, I'm just not real big on liner locks personally but the M4 blade at 65 HRC is pretty nice as I am a steel junky.

If you can get a really good deal on a Military, I'd go for that. If you don't like it, you might even be able to sell it for a profit, or at least not lose anything.

Out of the others, the Stretch is a very very nice knife. Ties with the Centofante 3 as my favorite general-purpose EDC knife.

What are you using it for? The Endura is a great knife, but if you are contemplating getting the Military, I would go for the Military. It is comfortable for my bear paws, but not comfortable for anything either than coat pocket carry. The Native would be my first pick. Perfect size for all work tasks. Fits my hands great.

I would go for an endura. From what I've read I personally feel the milli is to big for EDC. I love my enduras and delicas though. :D

I own them all. Though it is highly subjective, I currently like the Stretch the most. Its just a nice size, feels great, and makes a groovy EDC. But I have several Military flavors that get plenty of carry time too, and am particularly fond of my black bladed camo flavor with sweet mirrored edge. The FFG Endura is awesome, but I don't dig the colored scales and mine is foliage G-10. I'll grab another FFG Endura when Mr. Sal makes one with black FRN. Hint hint.

So I would vote for the Stretch, or the blue FRN Stretch with fancy steel if you want to drop another $30. Cheapest prices on ebay.
