I striped and forced a patina on my ESKabar today :D

I don't know that I did it correctly but for now I think the patina looks good.

I used white vinegar and lime juice soaked jute twine.

I didn't take the coating off the handle, I wanted to keep that some what rust proof.

Next on the list is the BK2 and the KaBar LDK.

Another thing that I did since I striped it was a convex grind on it. I kinda like it better. I didn't want to do it with the coating on because I thought it would look weird.

I like it too. I'm usually not a fan of patinas, but they are growing on me. My brother came over the other day for me to rewrap his BK11, and we were talking, and I pulled out my BK14 to cut the para off, and he said it looked ancient, like it had been here since the hills. I kinda laffed and gave him his knife back. He looked at it and then the questions that only little brothers can ask,

Can you do that to mine?

I told him its easy, told him how to do it.

He's coming over this weekend for me to take care of it. Brothers. WTF.

Moose I think with a story like that you should post a pic of your 14. :D

So you're not forcing a patina you're just letting it happen naturally! I'm not that patient. :D

Looks real nice Moose. Wish I had an Eskabar. Maybe soon if the gods are kind to wee little Derek.
