Got my first Sebenza - left handed small 21 - and it is just phenomenal. Now I know what the hype is about - it isn't hype. CRK makes knives masterfully.

Just incredible workmanship. Functions perfectly right out of the box.

Anyway, thanks to all the lefties who advised me to get a LH model. So gla I did. It feels natural and comfortable.

Glad you dig it. Did you purchase new? Just wondering because mine had a pretty lengthy break-in period.

Yep, got it new. Carrying it everywhere and it has been flawless. I'm not the most experienced knife owner but to my critical eye it is without peer so far.

Nice! Make sure you use it..haha.

And you are correct...it stands alone.

Awesome, man. Happy to hear you're glad you went with the lefty version; I'm hoping to pick up a lefty Sebenza in the future. Pass the Kool-Aid this way, please:D

I feel like the guy in the fancy restaurant when they bring him a plate of snails and he can't stomach them when everybody else raves about what a delicacy they are. "Maybe I'm just not sophisticated enough to appreciate it."

I feel that way about the Sebenza. I've handled 3-4 of them and I really don't get it.

yeah i got my first seb a few weeks ago, and man the hype is well deserved, IMO

congrats on your Seb man!

Congrats on the new Seby! Use it! Enjoy it! Treat it right and you will have an heirloom to pass on someday because it will last you a lifetime!

I had one and I liked it, but not enough to bump my SMF out of my pocket.

I think the knives are really cool, and I'd love to get one, but I really am not a fan of smooth metal handles... so I guess that leaves me with the umnum... or a g10 sided sebbie...

not every flavor is for everyone. no need to feel guilty you dont like something other people dont; goodness knows there are plenty of knives out there that I just dont get that people go crazy over.

:p yeah man I hear yah, just bought a nice SNG, but im about to add a large sebbie to my collection next week!

I felt this same way when I recently sold my LH small Sebenza. I briefly felt like a failure as a knife knut. :p The knife is very obviously beautiful and masterfully executed. I "get" that part. The knife is a joy just for that. But I cut my thumb badly while closing it, so now I require a choil for any framelock or linerlock.

Southern1, congrats on your new Sebbie and good for you for getting a lefty!

What about one with inlays? I don't really like sooth metal handles either so when I ordered my Seb I got the micarta inlays and I absolutely love it

You are not the only person.

Is it a very well made knife? Heck yes but I don't get the ergonomics of it.

I guess I'm just not sophisticated enough for one yet.

I want to add that for the price of a Sebenza I can start looking at customs. I guess that just adds to my hesitation to getting a Sebenza.

The goods news is if I buy a Sebenza and don't like it I can always sell it and not take too much of a loss.

good point! forgot about those... hmmm.. well I guess that goes back on the list of knives to own before I die.. thanks!
