..I had a dream last night.

I dreamt I was carrying a khukuri that is making its way to me as we speak...
I remember the smooth feeling of the horn handle, the contoured ring so crisp and clean; and the brass butt cap at the flared end. The light almost airy feel to it at my side.

The khuk I speak of is one I've never seen before, and I wonder.. Does the dream foretells what it will look and feel like in my hand?

Oh HIKV..

You know you've got it bad when it's whispering to you in your dreams from miles away.

The khukuri in question will be a first for me on a couple accounts.
I asked Auntie a while ago if she had any light backpacking Khukuri's in stock. And she mentioned she had a horn handled WWII by Kumar at 15" & 15oz.

I've never had a WWII or a Kumar blade, or one with a horn handle, so this will be interesting. At that weight and size, I expect it'll be super nimble.

Any thoughts on how she'll handle?

Pictures will come once it arrives. :)

sounds like a solid knife, kumar is good, and I prefer horn myself -- and according to everyone who backpacks, ounces matter when you carry everything you need to live in a bag on your back :D

An ounce per inch is generally mentioned as perfect. I'm thinking it's gonna be the true answer to your dream. Also supports many of our theories that the knife finds the owner and not the other way around.

You mention a dream and Auntie makes it come true. Not the first time that's happened either.

I'm anxious as you are now to see it and hear your feelings about it. I think it's gonna sing!

Sounds like a dream come true to me! Horn is so beautiful when done right and Kumar sure knows how to do it! Congratulations on that WWII!

Thank you.

I'm just itching to handle it. :)

And I have a feeling you're right Bawanna.

Will post pics when it gets here!
