Okay, I've been fighting this off for YEARS, and it may be getting the better of me: I want a GRS, okay I need one. I get itchy just thinking about it.

The problem: don't have the money, and Christmas is coming= even less money.

Ah well, such is the price of a bad case of HIKV;) :(

Don't feel bad for me, I'll probably freak out during one of Yangdu's deal of the day and take a bite out of one before I have time to think "boy is my wife going to castrate me for this":D

OR: "My wife going to castrate me WITH this."

I hear that. The GRS is one of the khuks I was first attracted to, and if I had been more patient it would have been my first. The recent threads about the GRS have only honed my appetite for one. Look out, sharkies!

I'm pretty sure most men would like to think it would take a full size GRS to castrate them:D

Oh well I have an 18"er on the way. I will tell you how it handles. That may help or hurt, I don't know, but I will probably chop something with it before you can manage to get one. :foot: :D

I gotta get me something longer too. Maybe a kobra, or a sirupati or a ...

Oh hell I'm in as bad a shape as you are. So far all but 2 are hidden from the wife though. :D

Uwinv, you really don't *need* a GRS, really.
No matter how much you may desire a GRS there's a helluva lot of difference between want and need. :p The standard >20"+ GRS is definitely a purpose driven khukuri and is best for an all around felling khukuri.

What you really *need* is a full sized Foxy Folly!
A full sized Foxy Folly has more than one purpose and therefore is a more valuable addition to your collection and more easily explained to the wife.
In addition to being a great felling khukuri it is also a great limbing khukuri as well.
And with some practice to get used to the weight it is also one helluva self defense khukuri.
Actually the Foxy Follys are all around khukuris that can be used for dayumed near any task that needs to be done that can be done with a khukuri. ;) :D

Oh great!! now I "NEED" BOTH of them:grumpy: ;) :p

I've been thinking of those also. Uh oh. An all around khuk. Leave it to Yvsa to become the unofficial marketing arm of, the virus carrier for, the infectious presence of HI. We all got it bad enough already. You know how good that FF looks. And the M43... Malla too! :D

Today's special offers a rare opportunity if you ever going to buy one Rob...

Thanks Nasty. I saw and it's a beaty!! I have to pass due to $$ considerations. Believe me if I had the money.....

My full size GRS, made by old Ganga, has become my favorite blade for cutting up sticks in my backyard for the fire. The balance and ergonomics are great. Cutting is effortless. Accuracy is amazing.

True, it is not the best blade for concealed carry, or packing up the side of a mountain. But after I hype up my exercise program and perfect my new carry system ...

The full weighted FF is a true limber. NO, I don't own one, but handled Yvsa's and know from similarly weighted and sized khuks what they will do.

I hadn't thought about this, but having BOTH models of the FF around in the HI stable is probably a good thing.

Those two cover a lot of ground together.

GRS wonderfull Too!!!!
