I can't remember the last time I carried another brand of knife at work that wasn't an Emerson. Right before my last shift I received a new knife in the mail from a trade here in BF. I decided to carry this non-Emerson at work for my full 48 hour shift and see how it worked for me. Well, it just wasn't the same. It felt funny in the pocket, didn't have the same ergos, didn't slice as cleanly, and a few other miscellaneous flaws. I really felt odd not carrying an Emerson at work, especially when we were paged out to a fire and I didn't have one to put in my gear. It turned out to be a false alarm but still, I didn't have Ernest Emerson covering my back. So, I've decided Im never carrying another non-Emerson at work again.

Also, I used my 15% off coupon from my ECA membership to pick up a waveless CQC-7B so heres a couple crappy iPhone pics of some Emerson goodness.

I'm going to be thinning the herd, but no way will I ever sell any of my Emersons.

Thank you for the pass around too Silvanus, I ordered a CQC 15 SFS yesterday! That was very nice of you, much appreciated, and now my new 15 will be here Tuesday.

You just let me know when you thin out that collection lol ;) ... and I can't remember the last time I didn't carry an Emerson ... best knives out there

I've had a desert roadhouse in my pocket since I traded into it some weeks back. Been loving it. My tigers been my fondle blade though, well that and a Persian that will soon be in a new home.

There's something VERY comforting about carrying an Emerson in your pocket. I don't own many knives, but I've always had at least 1 Emerson. I'm slowly building back up the collection, and seriously contemplating selling my CRK to help fund a custom. Sickness. Lol

You'd be hard-pressed to find me without an Emerson in my pocket. I may carry something in addition to them, but rarely instead of them.

Yeah, Great thread! I feel odd/naked leaving the house without a Emerson. Even if I have another brand in pocket, I will also have a wave deployable Emerson too. A Emerson, watch, keys, wallet and flashlight are what I must have or I just feel incomplete when leaving the house.

thats cool!

same here - ever since i got my cqc8 i carry it - sometimes i would carry an additional folder

and those new production emersons look really nice! the finish looks spot-on in every pic i see of a recent production - thats bad somehow cause it makes me want more emersons :D

EXACTLY! Same here. All others pale in comparison, and my Sebenza 25s for instance are very nice knives.

But they still are not an Emerson. Period.

And when something costs less than something else, yet still is perceived as superior, that says something.

At least to me, and for probably all of who have commented in this thread!

I'm with you all on feeling weird without an Emerson in my pocket. I've exclusively carried them for the past 18 months. I can't say that about any other brand.

Ever since I bought my Mini 7a it's been really difficult for me to carry anything but one of my four Emersons. I had to carry my Spyderco Dragonfly when I stayed in Akron for a few days due to the 2.5 inch length limit. Needless to say as soon as I got home I took out the Dragonfly and put the Mini 7 into my pocket. I think I need to get a CQC 14 so that I can carry an Akron and Cleveland legal Emerson.
