This knife was well used but I always looked at it and dreamed of what it could be.
No disrespect to MR. Busse, I love your designs, but I had to make this one my own.
I've seen this done before and always new some day I would give it a try.
This is my version, it feels incredible and is perfectly balanced.
I also softened the jimping as for me it was a little aggressive for extended use.

GREAT job brother!!! Looks awesome and I love the balance!!

I love it, I have thought of doing the same thing to my sar4, but I was going to leave a little steel at the end for a pommel. Cool Mod brother.

Thanks guys, I went really slow with the cut off wheel and barrel sander on the dremmel to get the shape, dipping in ice water every few seconds.
Then I went to the 1x30 belt sander to refine and blend the tang and put a razor sharp edge on her. Then I used the worksharp 1/2x10 belt to shape
the micarta and get the old scratches from the blade and give it a quick satin. The whole mod took about an hour and a half.

I keep coming back to look at it

I have thought about this before with a SAR 3. Kinda liking the 4 now as well. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice.I'd be worried about over smoothing/darkening the micarta.Looks alot more useable:thumbup:

The worksharp is perfect for shaping Micarta.
It takes it right down at just the right speed
for controlled removal. No burning or darkening
at all. The flex in the belt is the key for blending.

I came so close to doing that to the one I had... I guess I will have to get another sometime soon. :o

Hello Everyone,

I don't write very often but I have been following this forum for about 4 years. I learned a lot from what you all write here and I have been hooked by this Busse INFI thing too. I have a double cut SAR4 and I would like to have some work like this being done. Could you recommend a nice Mod guy that would this work? Thanks for your answers.

There are certainly other modders, but norcalblacktail (Nate) comes to mind first. http://knifemods.com/
