I scored the last mountaineer 1 from Derrick at knifesshipfree. I've been sitting on the fence for so long about getting a one piece that I'm very close to missing the boat. I should also pick up the 28 one-piece but now they seem plentiful. I'm not a fixed blade kind of guy but this one is for investment purposes.:thumbup:;):p

I have my eyes on two more. I really hate to part with the $$$ but I'm running out of time. When these babies are gone they are gone for good just like the uumfaan.

Did it again! Ordered a large insingo from knifeart. Left hand of course. Maybe the first one made. Looking forward to it. Thanks Chris for making left hand versions!

Congrats. I thought I bought the last one in production from knifecenter.com. What is the date on yours. Mine is March 2010. I bought my Mountaineer 1 b/c its such a nice looking knife. I plan on keeping mine and I've already used it for cutting paper, cardboard and branches.

There are a few one pieces left out there but it was the last one Derrick had. He had two and when it went one I jumped. The insingo kills two birds with one stone. I like the 21 but felt there wasn't enough differance between it and the classic large micarta that I like to justify the purchase. Next on my list is a mark 6 from Dan at Plaza Cutlery! The insingo has a new blade shape that I think is different enough to justify the purchase. I got the last mountaineer from knivesshipfree.com not the last one available I always liked it and realized my time was running short.

Scott,

Good snag. The one piece line is something special. There is not one model from the line that I do not like. The mtr I, shadow III, and sable III are fantastic smaller fixed blades. You would like their bigger brothers too, if you don't already own them.

I really like the looks of the newer FBs, especially the Nayala.

Hey Scott...let us know how you like the large insingo! Can't decide if I want the large or small:confused:

Chris D. :D

All the One Piece Knives are amazing, though I like some designs more than others. My favorites are the Shadow line and some of the saw back models. My Grail One Piece Knife was a Jereboam I with a 9" clip point blade and a sawback. Took me about a year to find one when I was looking for it. I havent seen one for sale since, so it must be that rare !!! I dont have a mountaineer I, but I have 2 shadow III's and a Tanto III. Maybe one day I will get a mountaineer I to go along with my mountaineer II. The 28 Year Mark 6 is a nice knife as well and a fitting end to the legendary OPR. I think I read where only 400 of the Mark 6's were made. I am surprised they are not all sold out by now. I got mine the second day they were released from CRK themselves fearing they would sell out quickly.

can you tell us where?

I cant say where and at what price as that violates forum rules as "deal spotting" Do a google search or go to he CRK site and look up the dealers, thats what I do. The only advise I can offer is Dont Wait, they are drying up quickly and prices are soaring !!!

i thought that was the case, thanks for clarifying. i have searched extensively with no luck to be sure.

Yeah you are right, I've only been able to get a mountaineer 1 and it looks like thats all Ill get.:(

Yeah I found one for 355 dollars. That's highway robbery. I tried fine knives but they won't return my call.

i paid regular retail!!! i never heard back from fine knives either. i just started calling people listed on the dealer link from chris reeve and got lucky to get the last one.

Woo hoo! Just got off the phone with fine knives. Looks like a shadow IV is in my future! At retail with shipping included!
