I finally did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

It feels damn good when you take a knife thats kinda sharp then for an hour you mess with it till shes crazy sharp and body hair is no longer safe... How'd you do it????? Sand paper, stones, paper wheel, ceramic, diamond? I just started using sand paper this year after using stones for as long as i can remember.

Well done sir,

Chris

Congrats! What basic sharpening method do you use? Do you strop at the end?

I remember when I first was able to get a razor edge on my knives...when I first started stropping with compound, it did wonders for the finish of my blades.

heres what i did, i started on my course 350 gritt diamond b/c i had a rough spot and a chip to work out from being stupid lol, i worked up a burr on 1 side i then stropped the burr off with green compound just tell it was gone, then did the same on the other side, then i switched to my 750 gritt diamond and worked a small burr up on 1 side then stropped it off in the same way then did the same to the other side, at this point it would shave like nothing else and the edge damage was gone, then i went to my DMT EF 1000 mesh plate and worked each side evenly doing 3 strokes a side for a while with no more pressure than the blade so only a couple ounces, then 2 stroke per side after a while, then 1, making sure to not raise a burr, then i went to my translucent hard arkansas which is around 2000-3000 grit or 6 micron i think, i kept the same feather light touch but only doing 1 stroke per side and i used water on the stone, this worked the scratches out nicely and refined the teeth more, then i stropped on green compound prolly did 50 strokes each side keeping a very light touch, needless to say it took a few hours but man oh man was it worth it :D its all about pressure
