I'm a Victorinox nut, I'll admit it. But the problem is I like having a one-handed locking knife because there are times when it is very handy, so I found a great combination. I picked up a Victorinox Rambler from EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports) for $17 (just the plain red, my favorite
) and I have a Dickie's pick pocket, which is a little nylon/velcro horizontal/vertical oriented pouch for holding guitar picks. I stuck my new buddy into said pouch, and on the belt it goes. The pouch, when horizontally mounted, is no wider than my belt and about 1.5 X 1.5" or so. I carry this in the company of a Benchmade Griptilian 550PEOD clipped to my pocket. Now I have a sweet Victorinox (blade, scissors, toothpick, tweezers, nail file/regular screwdriver, and my favorite part: cap-lifter wire-stripper WITH MAGNETIC PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER!
) and my almost-as-cool Benchmade
And there's more! I can survive without carrying a knife for a day, but I'd be dead without my Casio G-Shock thermomter dw-6100, and what do you know? The small phillips driver on the knife is a perfect fit for the band/watch back screws, so I guess I'm all set if the battery dies or I need to deconstruct my watch quickly to make a detonating device. My Victorinox came with a defect (a first for me)- It looks like a piece of cellidor was carved out of the edge, but it looks kind of strange in that cool way, so I decided against returning it. I'm easily excited, and to finally balance my longing for a SAK with my longing for a one-hander with a beefier blade is a very nice thing.
