I finally found the goods!

I finally found some fatwood! I think it is pretty good too, it smells really strong, and is almost sticky. It came out of a stump that is around 40 years old. (it was in front of my folks house, im assuming they cut the tree down when they built the house) I just wanted to put up a pic of what the stump looked like for other fatwood noobs like myself.

I only took a chunk off of the side to check to see if it was fatwood. The pic of the stump was taken after I took the chunk in the other pic. I want to go back and dig up whats left of the stump, as I understand that there will be more fatwood in the large roots and lower in the stump.

oh yeah thats the stuff! its really neat to see fatwood from different regions....in my area its dark purple, in other areas it yellow to red to yellowish green.....

Got my first Thursday out of little chunk of wood I found. Went back today and picked up part of a tree that had been cut down and I think the little chunk came out of it. I've been searching off and on for a couple of weeks now and really have the bug. I'll try to get some pics up later.
