WOW!

It's a large left-handed. It's my first framelock, and it is as great as I expected.

Now the only question is whether to get it "Mayonized". I called CR and they said their warranty will be void if Tom works on the knife.

Opinions?

Thanks in advance,

I don't see any reason to Mayonize it.

Besides, I don't think Tom is doing them any more.

I just got a LH Mnandi and have the LH Umfaan, small regular Sebenza, small wood regular Sebenza and large regular Sebenza.

I think you should get a LH Mnandi next; then a wood inlay Sebenza (small or large).

Tom Mayo posted a thread indicating that he wasn't going to do any more Sebbie mods. So the point's kinda moot. I missed out too. BTW congratulations on your Sebbie.

Thanks for all the good words. I searched and saw that Tom is nod doing his mods anymore, I guess I am out of luck.

RGRAY, I am WAY over budget, so I'll have to wait for a long time before looking at any CR knives again. I'll enjoy thins one for a while, through.

I'd suggest if you want holes and heat color to send it to sc_rebel1957, Ron, who does spyderco mods. He did a fine job on my Ti Salsa. I'm sure he would do fine on a sebenza.

Congrats on your first Sebenza. The stories that you have heard about them are all true, they are great knives!

Yeah, I missed out on the Mayo treatment as well.......oh well. I called his number twice about a month ago & I never received a call back to tell me yea or nay. Didn't like that............. :grumpy:

Thats unfortunate, but NOT typical for Tom, I have never once purchased a knife from Tom, but have bought some TnTs in the secondary market, and despite this, any time I had a question, needed something, he returned every single email usually the same day, if not, the next, he has sent me extra screws, a little wrench (free) and been one of the most responsive makers Ive run across, i'm not doubting what you said, just saying that in my, and most people's experience, Tom's customer service is as good as it gets.

Mayonized or not a Sebbie is hard, if not absolutely impossible, to beat. To me it is the quintessential EDC. It's built like a tank and will still be functional long after you are not. Congrats and I hope you enjoy.
