Just had to share my happy day with you guys. And gals, probably. I just picked this up from the Bear Arms in Kent, WA.

I've read on here a lot about how benchmade's quality control is bad. This is the only benchmade I've had experience with and I can say that if this is to be used as an example of benchmades quality, it's a really good example. Perfect centering, came sharp enough to shave, and no blade play. It's got a really dense, solid feel. I'm just hoping the thing about omega springs snapping doesnt happen to me. If anything changes here and it goes kaput or breaks or something, I'll post a new review.

I think this is worth the money.

It is a great knife congratulations on the purchase. I have never had a quality control problem with any benchmades i have gotten. If there was an issue, I am confident that they would make it right. They have great customer service in my experience.

Glad your happy with it. It won't be your last Benchmade trust me.:D Would get one of their black class knives soon too. You"ll be glad you did. I wouldn't worry about the springs breaking anytime soon or ever. Haven't had one break yet and doubt you will either. My theory is about the springs breaking is some people just don't take care of their knives. Enjoy the 551 and post some action pics using it when you get a chance.

Nice pick. The regular Mini-Grip (model 556) remains one of my favorite Benchmade models. The Ritter version of the Mini-Grip sits atop the list for my top Benchmades.

I have owned a couple of Mini-Grips and have come to the conclusion it is one of my favorite Benchmades. Congrats!

I bought my old man a Mini-Grip for father's day and he loves that knife. Here's a shot of his MG and my Sebenza 21 (small).
