While you have all seen many different versions of this knife and probably even some almost exactly like it, here is yet another Neil Blackwood knife. I have been looking, lusting and waiting patiently for my own for quite some time now. I finally received my own on Monday. It is a small Hybrid with a D2 blade that Neil ground on a larger wheel to create a slightly less radical hollow grind. The knife is fantastic and flawless to my eye. I really cannot find a thing I would change or do differently. I now see why Neil has such a backlog, it is well deserved. Thanks again Neil for a truly great knife.

Geez! I'm quickly going broke. Somebody start posting pictures of ugly knives!!!!

I'd gladly offer my left nut as payment for a knife like your Blackwood. GORGEOUS!!!

They are pretty cool, aren't they ?;) Neil's one of my favorite makers, and the Hybrid is one of my favorite patterns. I'm pretty sure you're gonna like this one...

Buzz,

She is sweet. Very thin edge on that D2 blade too. The thing cuts as well as it looks. One of the nicer Kydex sheaths I have seen as well. Just a ton of carry options. Nice package overall.

Jamie,

It was a pleasure making that one! It's good to experiment a little once in a while. Thanks again for your patience with this one.

Buzz,

No need to go to that extreme!!!!!! Guns, Watches, certain knives I'll consider. COLD HARD CASH preferred. :p :D

Thanks for the kind words guys, the Hybrid model is going to be around for a LONG time in my line up!!

I figured that with one less nut, I'd have enough leather to make a scrotum skin sheath. But seeing as I just ordered a knife from Jens with a lizard skin sheath, I guess I'll keep the nut and work on cash payments. ;)

I really do need to come up with something easier to obtain than cash though. Do any makers accept belly button fuzz, ex-wives or empty super-glue containers? I have lots of those!!!! I'd even give a real good deal on an ex-wife. :D

Oh yah. Back to the Blackwood. It is indeed one drop-dead gorgeous knife!!! It seems that Mr. Blackwood has come upon a wonderfully unique style all his own. This really impresses me. There are so many knives out there, the makers I could not guess in a million years, just because the knives all look alike. Then you run into makers like Neil and Jens, who possess both ability AND creativity. These are the true artists of the trade.

Neil makes some fine working knives. Nice lines, clean grinds, and balances great in the hand. Nice slim profile also means I can wear my Small Tac as a neck knife.
