I finally got some shots that show the detail on the James Luman Bowie. I thought I'd share with you folk. the more I mess with this one the more I like it.

Very pretty knife. What is the handle material?
 
That really looks like fiddleback or tiger maple. I have always liked the way these maples look. That damascus is outstanding. Is it a spirograph damascus?

Mr. Luman does all of his own sheathwork as well. I guess when you're snowed in on some mountain in Montana there's little else to do. :)

he makes a custom sheath for each knife that is numbered to the knife.
