Hello fellow Sebenza-natics! This weekend I was fortunate enough to be able to See, Touch, Hold, and then PURCHASE my very First Sebenza! I went to the Spirit of Steel show in Grapevine, Texas this past weekend and found a Brand New in the box Large Classic with Plain handles, exactly what I had been pondering purchasing for over one year now! Man is this baby GREAT! I had not even seen a Chris Reeve knife in person until then, but it only took a few seconds to understand what all the Fuss is about! Of all the knives I have had the pleasure of owning during my life, I have to say that this knife is truly an example of Brilliance in Simplicity! Nothing is there that does not need to be, and the Quality of Workmanship is undeniable. Even though I had previously purchased knives in this price range ($325.00) I had hesitated buying a Sebenza for some unknown reason, maybe due to never having had the chance to see one in person.

So to sum it up, if there are any other Knife Lovers like me who are pondering owning a Sebenza, I am hear to tell you that it may be the last knife you ever have to buy ( except of course for MORE Sebenzas!) Life is too short to not enjoy the finer things, so if you have the opportunity to own one of these, do yourself a favor and BUY IT! Okay, enough rambling from me, I am off to find something worthy of being cut by this jewel! - Kevin :)

Welcome Kevin! Yeah we know the feeling you must have had.

Here's a quotation for you that sums it up - ""Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." -- Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Now doesn't THAT sum up a plain Sebby?
I am off to find something worthy of being cut by this jewel!
I found a new use for mine this morning - I sliced my breakfast bagel. My Sebby woody did a perfect job.

Excellent quote Zozzie! That DOES sum up what I was trying to say! I will have to try mine on my next Breakfast Bagel (wonder how it does with peanut butter?) So far today I have opened some mail and a package which contained a Schrade/ Uncle Henry knife display case that I recently purchased in commemoration of the factory closing. :( Don't think that was sacreligious using the Sebenza to open a Schrade package do you??

Man, I can only imagine what the quality of a Chris Reeve traditional slip joint knife would be! He would have them standing in line for sure for a Stockman in S30V with Titanium handles, and maybe some anodized screws. Oh well, I guess that is probably just a dream for now, but rest assured I will be carrying and enjoying this new Sebbie for a long time to come!

Yes it's a beaut isn't it?

I have PB on my bagel but didn't use the Sebby. I cut a banana last week and it was a bitch to get the stain off! Who would believe it?

All I can say is that you have a lotta nerve telling us that!

Don't hold your breath waiting for any CR knife outside of the current lineup :(

Uhoh, I am new in these parts so I hope I did not offend anyone by mentioning that other brand name...Let's just say I have carried just about every make of production and Semi-custom knife in my lifetime, but I think the search is finally over for my one TRUE Perfect EDC!! Is it really possible to be this infatuated with a Knife after only 48 hours??

And oh I know that Sebenza means "Work" in Zulu, but I thought you might like this acronym that I was inspired to come up with:

Simply
Every
Blade
Enjoys
New
Zealous
Admiration ;)

While the Sebenza is a very nice knife, I fail to see what all the fuss is about. I have both a Large Classic and a Large Regular, and, while they are good knives, I've never understood the fanatacism.
At any rate, Fool, now that you have discovered the Sebenza, you can be sure that the old saying is true: "a Fool(4Blades) and his money are soon parted." Kiss the greenbacks goodbye!

Hello fellow Sebenza-natics!

I believe that the proper term is "Sebenzanistas", though personally I'm also partial to "Sebenza-holics". ;)

My experience has been that buying Sebenzas leads to ... buying more Sebenzas. Also customs. Once you overcome the psychological barrier of the Sebenza's price, you start realizing how many similarly priced customs are available. And that, Mr. Fool4Blades, is the beginning of the end, or maybe the end of the beginning, or .... Well, let's just say that things start getting expensive. :)

I got hooked on Sebenzas a couple of years ago, moved to the custom area and I have to admit I have about 6-7 nice custom folders. I kept coming back to the Sebenza for a daily using knife. It's not just one thing that keeps me coming back to the large Sebenza but all the little things. Quality materials, unreal tolerances, ease of take down, the ability to get and keep and absolutely wicked sharp edge with my egde pro apex..... I could go on and on but I think you guys know what I mean. I just went to Boise to pick up a large left hand limited edition giraffe bone inlay. I got to meet Bridget and Lisa it was a great trip. I'll post pics and tell about the trip later.  ;) :p

I am stuck on sebenzas due to the fact that I can use them everday for years on end without issues.

my benchmades and spydercos from the 90's always got sent back for maintenance and I got fed up with the "loosening" of there knives over time when worked.

the sebenza has been going strong everyday cutting 550 cord, honeycomb(cardboard for airdrops of equipment/supplies) and all sorts of military stuff(mre's)

if you carry a knife to be worked everyday, the sebenza was my answer and I will not look back to those $100 models from the past

You won't find a finer knife than those made by the good folks at CRK.
Mnandi fan here.......

Paul

I think I have it bad! Man, I know it is "Just" a knife, but this Sebenza has me completely mesmerized! I can't seen to put it down. Someday I will have to make a Trek to Idaho, to pay my respects to THE MAN!! Hats Off to all at CRK for the Most Awesome Single Blade Folder on the Planet!! ;)

Congrats on your purchase!! You just can't beat a Sebenza no matter what size and/or style you choose. ;)

Well it is time to celebrate my (almost) one month anniversary of ownership of the BEST folding knife on the planet, (Large Classic Sebenza.) I am thinking about taking her out to dinner, that is if my wife does not get TOO jealous! :D Seriously, I don't think I have ever owned a knife that has given me so much pleasure carrying, using, and just plain lookin' at! I just called CRK today and spoke with Mindy, ordered a spare clip and a long sleeve T-Shirt in commemoration of FINALLY finding the Perfect ( for me anyway,) EDC Knife! I will probably have to buy a Small Sebenza at some point just to have both sizes, but I can already tell that there is NO TURNING BACK! Sebenzas RULE!! :D
