I've collected knives most of my life and for over 20 years I've EDC's a stainless Spyderco Delica. I have several other clip knives but my collection is mostly slippies and Fb's. I've considered buying a Sebenza for years but have never made the jump. I met a guy at a gun show a couple of weeks ago and came close to buying an old small unique but decided to wait. We traded texts over a couple of weeks and I figured was ready to buy, but wanted to look at a couple of his knives again so I could decide which one I wanted. During our conversation he pulls a large 2002 Stars and Stripes out of his pocket because we were talking about our EDC rigs. Man I laid eyes on that sucker and had to have it. I had seen that very knife online and haven't been able to find one so I gave up on the thought of having one anytime soon. I offered him $350 for it and he let it go. My first CRK, I'm pumped and unfortunately now have the bug!

That's a heck of a commitment you've had to one knife for 20 years. Congrats on the Stars/stripes and your first sebbie. (Edit: just noticed that's a regular, heck of a first buy!)
If you like the Delica size for EDC you might consider a small sebbie next. I find the Insingo perfect in that roll. Merry Christmas.

It took me 25 years to pull the trigger on a Sebenza and within a year I had a second one with graphics. I was lucky in that I traded for both of them here with BFC members in fact the last shared my birthday. Congrats, you'll never regret getting one.

Congratulations on your first CRK, and what a beautiful piece!!!!!!
The Stars and Stripes regulars are a favorite for many. I'm betting it won't be long
before you get another one.
It will serve you well and be reliable.
Enjoy!!!!

Speak of the devil, the man who enabled me with my birthday knife. ;)

And congrats! Welcome to the sickness!

It couldn't have went to a more deserving home. It makes me smile every time you mention it.
Merry Christmas Ted!!!! And the rest of the great folks on the CRK forum.
A great group of people:)

I have that very knife. The large regular is the finest folder ever designed. You got a good one as your first. My first was a large regular as well, only its of the plain variety and bg-42. That stars and stripes pattern is my favorite flag one crk has produced thus far. Congrats

Thanks guys and appreciate the clarification on this being a regular. Really happy I found this knife for sure, he had the box, papers, old "think twice" sheath and everything. @jleephoto I planned on the small since it is about the size of my Delica but had to have this Stars and Stripes! As far as the 20 years goes on that spydie, it was actually two knives. Lost one about 10 years ago.

Beautiful knife and a beautiful price. CR makes fantastic knives. That's a keeper if I've ever seen one!

Wow what a deal! Nice choice for your first:thumbup: Now you have to decide which one to buy next!

I'll take it! What's your PayPal?
Nice score on a gorgeous piece! It's a slippery slope my friend.

I see what you did there. Skipped over the "Small vs. Large", "21 vs. 25", and went straight for pure awesome for your first Sebenza. Gorgeous Score!
