I finally scored one of my grail hatchets

I just scored it on EBAY for a very reasonable price and it's in great condition too, I don't think it's ever even chopped down any cherry trees

Btw does anyone know what these are cast out of ?

Wow! What are the chances you’d find the original one, with George’s name on it and all? Check it closer, maybe there are still bark bits on the edge...

I wonder if he ever rehung his favorite hatchet.

It does actually look like a nice hatchet handle, I'm almost thinking of taking it for an actual hatchet but I'd be better off just leaving this as is not that it wouldn't look just as cool without it.
I will be using this for my front door but it probably won't be till the pup gets a bit older, she already chewed the corner off a wooden stool.

I can confirm the head is cast aluminum, and it weighs basically nothing.

I kind of wish it were heavier though, then it could stand on its own displayed on a shelf if I didn't want to use it as a door stop.
That's not a real complaint though, and it's still about the coolest doorstop ever.
