Would somebody be kind enough to post the pics on my behalf ? 3 JPGs, approximately 500 KB total size. I'll post the commentary when/if pics are up as to not ruin the surprise (no, nothing offensive in the pics before anyone asks ... and nothing edible either :D )

You can use http://tinypic.com to post pictures, go there, put the name of the picture with full path in the Upload window, click on Host it.

Copy the picture address with Image tags, the one that looks something like:

apqnt

and paste it in your post where you want the picture to show.

Better not be a gadget or a piece of gear either. They belong in G&G.

Ugh ... when checking for most appropriate place i realized it doesn't really fit into any of categories as described onthe front page. A gadget, perhaps, but not of the same kind you guys post there :) Besides, youcan always bump the thread elsewhere if you still think it belongs somewhere else, right ?

See ? Neither a real knife nor a gadget/piece of gear (in strictest sense) so it didn't really fit anywhere :D

Alas pics don't do it justice - but in the opposite way. It looks prettier inthe pictures tahn it does in reality, even though i haven't edited those pictures (except for clipping and size reduction) at all.

"Handle" was left rough (finished with 100&180 grit sandpaper) on purpose to have 'matte' finish instead of being polished shiny. The idea was to make a wood-like semi-transparent handle with lengthwise lines in it (similar to beech wood). The hole in the back is meant for lanyard but i have yet to find a decent lanyard-making manual/HOWTO :D And yeah, it's a bit small (i added the last pic to show its actual dimensions because i forgot to put a ruler next to it in any of the shots), if i was doing it al lover again i'd make it longer (both the "handle" and the "blade" part). Another thing that's somewhat bugging me: "handle" is a bit too thick for my liking - pics don't really show that but if it were slightly narrower it'd fit the hand even better.

Holy crap! That's one of those new ultra-deadly Dork Ops Flesh Rippers with the NIC (Nuclear Invisibility Coating), ain't it? Ain't it?

:p

Apples, pastries and raw dough aside, it doesn't cut really well (and it wasn't mean to slice meat and simialr stuff). I mean, i could make it sharp enough to to slice raw meat but that'd be the last thingi'd do with it, because the "blade" would be destroyed after short use. The material just isn't cut out for that kind of a job (pardon the pun). Tip is very solid and pointy though (i stabbed myself a couple of times - this is new, wider tip, i chipped off the narrower one by accident in the process of making this thing) and yeah, it obviously wouldn't show up with metal detector scan ("covert") - the NIC coating does it job remarkably well :D

Seriously, that thing looks nice. Neat idea.

Why don't you put your name on the blade and place it on your knife display case?

That's a beauty! I say it's an art knife so I'm moving it to The Gallery -- Your place to post pictures of your knives - Art Knives, One-of-a-kind Customs, Tacticals, or Heirlooms.
