A bit differently from what I first planned but it is now looking very "Ivan Style", with a satin finish and a cord wrapped handle.
Testing this beast has proven - not to my surprise - that it is a real winner to chop with, transfering a lot of power to the heavy tip (similar to a khukuri, but no so accentuated).
Let me know what you guys thing.
Sorry for the poor pic but today was not a great day for me with the camera... I was more inspired at the grinder!

Edited to say that I posted a batter pic.

Hi Ivan, I like it (like the others you've done :) ), especially the semi-willowleaf blade shape. So let me bug you again for specs. Y'know, stuff like steel, OAL, thickness, blade length, test methods, and like that.

TIA.

Ivan, i like it man. it fits with the rest of your spartans, but doesn't look the same, if you know what i mean.

Thanks for your comments, buddies.
This knife was made of 1/4" thick 5160 and its blade is about 9 7/8" long, with sellective heat treatment done by Sr. Bíde, the local blacksmith thats is almost 80 years old and that used to make Sorocabana knives. My tests consists of basically cutting wood 7x7s to check consistecy of heat treatment and also to feel how the knife behaves so I can upgrade its next versions.
Alex, this knife incorporates some features not seen on the first Spartans, like the adition of a gurad and ricasso and the satin finish.
Brian, I even got the scales cut for this one but it just don´t look like me. For now, you can take care of all the knives with handle slabs.
Will, I did not try it with gree wood but by the way it behaved on the seasoned 7x7s, I´d think small trees won´t have a chance!

I know what you mean Ivan....I want a HT oven but a non hammon dont look like me either :)~
