Its been a few years since I let my AG vanguard go. (foolish mistake) I still have my 2 stag 110 AG. Been thinking of getting another one for awhile now but haven't yet.

Yesterday I had to go to St Louis to pick up a friends kid from the airport. Well we got to St Louis a couple hours early and Cabelas was only about 15 minutes from the airport. So we decided to go take a visit. It been over a year since I've been in there. The wife and daughters went to look at something while me and my 12 yo son went to look at guns and knives.

We stopped by the knives at the countered and asked if we could take a look at a couple of the AG's. Unfortunately they didn't have any of the rosewood Vanguards. But I did take a look at a few of the others they had. I didn't realize they were doing the mini-alpha in the AG line again. Its a sweet little knife. The 113 in the AG model looked super sweet also.

Anyhow I'm considering that maybe I need to start looking at putting myself together a set of the AG's. Up to this time my knife accumulation/collection really has had no direction. but the AG are such pretty knives. Well I walked out without buying anything, too close after Christmas, but man they sure did look nice.

So if you have any AG's how about posting them here. All I have is my 2 stag ones that everyone has seen a thousand times so I wont bother posting them.

You just missed out. The Alaskan Guides were on sale just before Christmas. I ordered a pair of 110 AG's online for the sale price. I also picked up 2 different AG's at the same Cabela's you were at, I asked for the online sale price and they did. What I learned about that store, they have a bunch of knives in the cabinet that is not on display. I don't know how they expect to sell stuff that way. I was lucky and the sales person dug thru it all for me so I could see what they had.

Here is my AG 110 that has been in service from 2005 to date.

DesotoSky, thanks for the insight. Next time I'm in there I'll ask if I don't see what I'm looking for. I don't get in there too often since its about 2 1/2-3 hours away.

About a 70-75 mile round trip for me.
