I came into ownership of quite a few Schrade Equestrian Trappers. After gifting most to friends and family...those who have horses anyways...I find I still have a couple left. What to do?

These are not expensive knives but they are handy while on the trail. I modified the hoof picks on most of the ones I have given away to make it less a hook and more a pick but I will leave that up to the winners. Winners? Yep...I am going to give away the last two of these knives right here on the forum...can't think of a better thing to do with them. To enter all you need do is post a pick of you and your horse or you and anyones horse, along with a piece of folksy horse lore...for example here is my horse Doc and myself...

and a folksy tidbit of horse lore...

One white foot, buy him.
Two white feet, try him.
Three white feet, be on the sly.
Four white feet, pass him by.

I will pick the winners using post numbers and a random number generator. I will accept entries till 7 PM friday and will announce the winners then. So get those pics scanned and dust off them ol horse bits o wisdom and get a knife to cut that bailer twine and keep them hooves clean...

Well, I love to ride, but don't have a horse or pic of me on one. Good luck to whomever wins.

Grooming other peoples' horses is cathartic for me. Of course, I don't have to deal with it when it's sick, or being a real brat. Almost like being a grandparent -- oh, he's screaming, you can have him back now, mom. :D

Well, don't look a gift horse in it's mouth.

I learn to ride from a old Polish Cavalry Captian (fought on horse in WWII).
Horrific stories of charges against the Germans.
The last cavalry charges...

He would put sixpence coins between my knees and the saddle.
If they were there after a ride round the arena, I kept them.
If not I had to dismount and find them...
Learnt to use my knees very fast!!!!

These are pics of my friend's horse named Izzy when she was just a 'pup'. I don't really know any horse lore, but if I win the knife I'll give it to my friend so that is folksy.

ok...let me rephrase the rule...a pic of you and a horse...need not be owned by you....smiles...

Really nice looking horse you have there Abs, an even-tempered one I'll be bound. No pix as I don't own a horse but they're a noble animal.Nice to see women on them too....

lets see If I can remember this one:
Trading Horses is like trading cars. You could get beat either way, because you cant tell from the looks what the engine is like. Could be a nice looking body with nothin in it at all.Everybody wants a good horse, but a good lookin horse isn't always a good one.
The great Ray Holmes said that once

My picture: Sorry its more than a year old, but I wasnt around horses much over here. :(

Thats one huge horse, I'm about 6'3".

These arent mine either, but I took care of them for about a week.

Edit: This last one belonged to a friend of mine in Italy:

Here's a pic of my wife and me - does it count?

The lore? Beauty (a horse) is only skin deep.

If you fall off- get right back on the horse. This actually happened to my family- my cousin knew that looking at a horse in a special area can help tell its age- but instead of looking in its mouth for its teeth- he looked inside the other orifice!! Told him after that he had to count the rings!!

My daughter and I at Christmas, and Ananda's horse plus his brother.

Thanks for the chance! I bought one last year but it was for Ananda's Grandpa- who owns the land Ananda's horse is on.
