Well not really, my eagle eye wife found it. I lost this Old Timer on a backpacking trip about two months ago. My wife and I went back to the same area for another backpacking trip. We went back to the last place we set up camp on the last trip to see if by some bit of great luck we could find the little Old timer. I was just about to give up and move on when the love of my life said " Is that it?" pointing about 5 feet from my left foot. I looked to where she was pointing and sure enough it was my little Old timer! I must have had a smile from ear to ear ! I picked it up opened it , inspected, blew as much dirt out as I could , dropped it in my pocket and then gave my wife a huge hug and kiss! I told her what a wonderful woman she is. She hiked about 3 miles out of the way to help me look for a pocketknife I lost about two months ago with out a single complaint. Just one of the many many reasons I love this woman sooooooooooo much! I cleaned the knife up as much as I could on the trail and put it back to work whittlin' and doing camp chores. I can't believe we found this little guy! I scales blend in with the color of the terrain just about as perfect as perfect can be. It is safe and back home in my pocket as I type. A big THANK YOU to Sitflyer for wishing me luck in finding my Old Timer !!! It looks like it helped!!!

Looks like you found it just in time; glad it didn't seem to suffer too much damage!

That's great man!!!

But... wait a minute. You say you lost the knife a few months ago, and it's been just laying out there in the elements, and the carbon steel blades haven't rusted away to nothing??
:D:D

All kiding aside, big congratulations on finding an old friend.:thumbup:

Carl.

What a great wife, and happy ending to your story!

I had been hesitating about what stockman to get (case, buck or a old made old timer). Your post just pushed me over the edge, that and a great deal on a large auction site. Great that you found yours!

Back to the Workhorse today. Tomorrow I will have to choose very carefully as I am going backpacking for a few days. I will be going to the same area in the Sierra mountains that I lost my little Old Timer. Wish me luck:D

This is the little guy that has been lost in the woods for a while now. I hope I can bring him home.

That's fantastic you found your knife, and you'll be able to tell your wife she's the current star of Traditionals! :D

Can't believe you found it, I thought it was lost and beyond recovery. Well done you two!

Fantastic!

My wife had to find a knife that I lost once. Out in a corn field. :o For all the crap you hear about marriage on tv and other places, it sure is sweet in my book.

Congrats man! :)
